Housing
The house has been recently renovated to restore its authenticity without sacrificing modern comfort. The large kitchen and adjoining dining room are lovely social spaces perfect for family meals. The living room is light, airy and large, it has an area for children with a selection of games and toys and it has two large sofas and a convertible sofa. The house has three bedrooms and a bathroom on each level.
The Barn, which is accessible from the kitchen, offers another wonderfully large space allowing family and friends to dine and gather together. The barn has a large dining table and comfortable lounge area, perfect for gatherings during the day; and with atmospheric electrical lighting, it is also a wonderful space for the evening. The other outbuildings offer spaces to share an aperitif during the warm summer months. There is a barbecue near the bread oven to extend the days outside, playing Ping Pong or watching the sunset on the pine forest. The children will be able to climb trees and enjoy the trampoline and swings, under the shade of trees. The property allows up 3 to 4 cars to be parking off road.
Presentation of the neighborhood
Our house is located in the Petit Landais, 10 minutes north of Bergerac. Saint Jean D'Eyraud is a small quiet village, with easy access to the rest of the region. The area is known for hiking trails which you can reach on foot from the house via the maintained paths of the DFCI, which are also accessible to bikes. The Lavoir on the Eyraud River is a three-minute walk away and is ideal for a picnic in the shade whilst the children play in the shallow water. Within 5-15 minutes drive of the house; There is horse riding available, a park AccroBranches/Tree top challenge offers courses for children and adults, an outdoor pool is in the neighbouring village of Villamblard and a lake for swimming with adjacent cafe and wooden play park with biking and walking trails is situated in Pombonne. A large private fishing pond near the pretty village of Queyssac is a 10 mins drive and is available for amateurs. Again within a 10-15 min drive, there are the many vineyards of the Pécharmant and Rosette, with local producers offering wine tasting throughout the summer months. Lastly there is an outdoor theater festival which offers many plays every summer for children and adults in the neighbouring village of Maurens.
The closest town to us (15 mins) is the wonderful and pretty town of Bergerac. In the summer Bergerac comes alive with its Summer Festival which offers many concerts on the Dordogne. There are also a number of lovely restaurants offering a taste of the food that the region of Perigord is famous for. For lovers of sweet wine, the famous Monbazillac is next door to Bergerac and the many weekly and night markets throughout the region will delight lovers of wine and specialties of Périgord on most days of the week throughout the summer months. The games castle of Bridoire is 20-25 minutes drive from the house and allows children and adults alike to picnic and play all day on traditional wooden games in a medieval setting. Bergerac also has many other activities including: go-carting, laser-quest, trampoline park, bowling, aquapark and cinema etc.
Further opportunities for swimming, include the various beaches on the Dordogne river, or the Grand Etang Jemaye . There are also many places offering canoeing and kayaking at various points on the Dordogne. Golfers will enjoy the famous Golf des Vigiers at 35 minutes, or the Château Les Merles Golf at Mouleydier (20 minutes). Finally, many family activities are available less than one hour away: the Lascaux Caves, the castles of Beynac and Cazennac, Castelnaud and its medieval museum, Sarlat a little further, Domme, Belvès.

The house is located 10 km north of Bergerac, and 25 minutes from the airport. A car is needed for shopping and sightseeing.
From Bordeaux, 1H15 to 1H30 from the airport via the A89 motorway (exit Mussidan / Bergerac) Périgueux is 40 minutes. SNCF Train station: Bergerac (15 Kms)
