Disappointed by Poor Customer Service and Lack of Communication

The property manager was very unhelpful.
The vacation rental was very dirty.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

I had high hopes for Elk Springs Resort, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. From the start, communication was a major issue. We received very little information ahead of our stay and showed up for the reservation that was supposed to begin at 3pm and wasn’t made aware that our cabin wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be ready until 4:30 according to cleaners that weren’t on the property, but I was told that they were. When we reached out with questions, responses were slow or nonexistent. It felt like we were left in the dark right up until check-in which again I had to call to see why at 8:30 I still hadn’t received a code to check in and then 5 minutes later the code was received leaving me not to be able to check in until 9pm, 5.5 hours later than my arrival. Speaking of check-in — it was delayed with no clear explanation or heads-up. After a long drive, waiting around without any updates was incredibly frustrating. Having to cancel all of my plans and spend additional funding due to their lack of scheduling a cleaning in a timely manner. Customer service overall was disappointing. There was a clear lack of professionalism and care, which really put a damper on what was supposed to be an amazing getaway.The cabin itself was decent, but the experience leading up to it left a sour taste. With so many options in the area, I’d suggest looking elsewhere unless Elk Springs seriously improves their customer service and communication.
