Large villa. Great pool. Safe property. Tipically Portuguese in decoration. Short walk from larger supermarket and beach/town centre. Soft furnishings could do with a good clean or replacement. We would however stay again

60th birthday celebrations

We had a fabulous time celebrating our 60th birthdays. Good location, a 10 min walk from the centre. Large supermarket 5 mins away. Excellent hosts. Traditional villa with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. There was a bit of a musty smell in the downstairs toilet. Would highly recommend it for families and groups of friends.

Our host was warm and friendly. We liked the location and we're able to walk to the center everyday. We felt safe and enjoyed the pool and garden..Our main concern was the mold and the cleanliness...we thought it was a problem...

CasCais family break

We had a lovely family week at the villa. It’s really spacious and well equipped and the outside pool and gardens are a real bonus. The villa is well situated if you want to explore the are. Lisbon is a 30minute train journey away and the beautiful hilltop town of Sintra is easily reachable by bus or taxi. CasCais is a great destination in itself with lovely beaches and plenty of good bars and restaurants within walking distance of the villa.

We loved Cascais

Very nice, clean house in a great location. Nice outdoor space with a pool, small tables and numerous lounge chairs. My only concern was that the downstairs had a pungent odor. The host was friendly but there was a bit of a language barrier.

We had a wonderful stay. The villa was as we expected and the host was very nice and accommodating. The villa has an old world charm and very close to all you would want to do, Including public transport to other areas. Very close to groceries. We loved the private and beautiful house grounds. The only down side was there were ants that would come in the downstairs areas. Would recommend this villa as a place to stay in Cascais, a beautiful seaside town

Owner very helpful, location superb. Outside excellent but inside cud just need a little tlc. A few more wine glasses and extra mugs are needed . Shower head Iin bathroom needed to be fixed.

Great stay in a lovely spacious house well appointed and furnished with antiques and nice art. Despite being in the busy city center, it was vey quiet and private. The location could not be better. Our host was very nice. Our only criticism was unreliable internet access there. But in a way, it helped us unplug. Still, difficult to communicate and make reservations. Perhaps the problem is that it is not password protected, therefore used by many.

Spring Stay

The apartment was located walking distance from the downtown (10-15 min). This is not evident unless you map out how to make it down there. It's a wonderful discovery though. The weather during our stay was very poor, so it limited use of the beautiful outdoor spaces. It was chilly with periods of heavy rain everyday. The apartment is much bigger than the ad conveys. Very large for a European rental. Safe parking spot on site.

A perfect oasis of calm near restaurants and the heart of Cascais

6 old friends for a week catching up in the sun A fabulous host -Maria made our stay so easy. The pool was set in a beautiful garden with an avocado tree and a pomegranate tree. We mixed it up barbecuing seafood from the local market and eating out some lovely chilled restaurants. We had a day in Lisbon Uber taxi 44€ for 6 as a bit hot for the train but that would have been good Airport taxi same price. A word of warning one friend joined us late and her taxi driver from the airport tried to scam her 100€ woman on her own . But we all came out onto the street and negotiated firmly get a price agreed at a he start his meter was dodgy Maria and her daughter really helpful A brilliant house for 6 adults who like their space !

Excellent location, pool and garden

The villa which has a private pool, lots of seating and space for outdoor dining is located on same site as hosts home. Host was most accommodating. We had couple visitors overnight and this was no problem. Photos of villa are accurate. The villa is spatious, good air con, well equipped and everything worked. The villa is furnished in traditional Portuguese style which we liked. One of bedrooms had all handpainted furniture, for example. I would suggest adding some new mugs, putting some order on kitchen cupboards and ensuring the villa has has a five star clean, for example shining mirrors, polished sinks etc. I am very happy to recommend this house and may return to it someday. Das Haus von Maria ist sehr groß und liebevoll eingerichtet und hat einen schönen Garten mit Pool. Maria ist eine reizende Vermieterin, daher fällt es schwer einige Dinge negativ zu bewerten. Dennoch, das Haus bedarf einer Renovierung, es riecht modrig, ist feucht, hat Schimmel, vor allem in den Bädern. Im Außenbereich müssten die defekten Liegen erneuert werden. Wichtig zu wissen und in der Beschreibung nicht erwähnt ist, dass der Vermieter das Haupthaus auf dem Grundstück bewohnt und das Mietobjekt mit Pool und Garten sich in einem separaten Gästehaus befindet.

Great Villa

Lovely spacious villa in excellent location. Really enjoyed our stay at this traditional villa with a nice big pool. Furnished traditionally which gave it character and although the bathrooms are getting a bit dated it was clean and very spacious. The location was perfect close to everything.

Moldy and must smell in a great location with a great pool

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this rental to anyone for one reason: Mold. This is an excellent space and location, but until the mold is throughly removed, it should not be occupied. The compound has two homes and the guest-house-rental is spacious beyond what the pictures show. The owner being next door is a non-issue because of the great space in the compound’s outdoors. The pool is a getaway. It is clean and relaxing. The dozen pool chairs and tables make it a great spot for a morning breakfasts or an afternoon nap. The compound is located atop a hill just a few short minutes from a near unlimited selection of downtown bars, restaurants, and shops. There are beaches ~10 minutes walking distance, and there is great access to public transportation for day-trips to Lisbon’s center, Cabo da Roca, Sintra, and other world-class locations. Mold. The bottom line is that the mold is intolerable. We found black and blue mold on the master bedroom’s comforter, pillow, bathroom, kitchen… The smaller quarters smelled of mildew and we felt the need to wash all sheets after the first night. The half-bathroom on the ground floor reeks of mildew and after one look around the mold can be seen around all of the edges of the space. We closed this door and never opened it again because the smell was so potent. Half of the dishes provided were not clean and some had growth. Perhaps worst of all, the tap-water did not seem drinkable because of its fungus smell so similar to the other rooms. If this rental were a hotel we would have requested a transfer to another hotel. Location was great.

Realmente este hospede ENCARNI foi extremamente desagradável, ressabiada, prepotente, malcriada e mentirosa. Assim que entrou na casa, começou por atirar os cestos de vime e o édredon de penas para o jardim porque era asmática e tinha alergia, que a internet não era suficiente e que a casa era perigosa porque estava cheia de mofo e cheirava mal, queria mais papel higiénico o que estava não era suficiente, o secador de cabelo não era bom, queria um melhor etc.etc. Disse-lhe educadamente que a casa estava muito bem limpa e desinfestada devido ao Covid e possivelmente o cheiro seria disso. Disse que não a queria confrontar, que a respeitava e pedi para fazer o mesmo comigo ou podia ir para outra casa que eu restituía-lhe o dinheiro quando recebesse da plataforma. O Paul o outro hospede e 3 adolescentes que estavam com ela foram sempre bem educados e simpáticos. Tenho sempre imensa atenção e cuidado com o serviço das Senhoras da limpeza.

Loved it

Really loved the property. It was beautifully furnished and equipped, to a quality standard. Very comfortable (though, for us, the beds were a bit on the hard side!).
