Nice location near nice trails and beach, great honeymoon spot! Soothing, well decorated and well-maintained space and charming and helpful host. Will stay again next time we visit Salt Spring!
Love this property with it's natural beauty and great amenities. Close to hikes and the lovely town of Ganges. Secluded location with a fabulous outdoor shower and hot tub.Felt like we were on our own with the world.
High quality, peace and quiet, clean and beautiful
We’ve been visiting the Gulf islands for 30 years and this location is certainly at the top of our list of best experiences. The location is great, very quiet and beautiful. The building is well taken care of, clean and has the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen. It was so relaxing to stay at Seido-en, and we look forward to going back, soon :)
This cabin was absolutely perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway! We stayed here right after our wedding, and it provided the ideal space to unwind and recharge. The outdoor shower and hot tub were amazing touches—so peaceful and private. We especially loved the cozy loft area. It’s also in a great location, close to Salt Spring Goat Cheese Farm and Solace Spa, which made for some fun little outings. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil retreat!
As a practicing “JuBu” I was astonished, elated and ecstatic to find a magical, mystical spiritual retreat center to call home for 5 marvelous nights! The beauty and serenity of Seido-en is breathtaking and welcome respite from my blessed but stressful life in Northern California. Wendy has thought of and implemented EVERYTHING. Thank you for creating a place of wonder and delight and for sharing it with others. Namaste
Simply a slice of heaven. Felt like we were transformed back to Japan with the peaceful elegance of this property. Wendy, our host, is in a league of her own. Simply as good as they come. Put a woman in charge. Her communication is stellar, and her knowledge not just of Salt Spring but the Gulf Islands is commendable.
Relaxing in this wonderful place where deers and birds come and greet you as they pass by, the peace and tranquility of it just needs to be felt ,
You could stay on property and soak it up relaxing in the hot tub or head of on a walk, lots of places to see
The thoughtfulnesses that went into the creation of this retreat and attention to every practical need is so appreciated.

Wendy has done a fantastic job building Seido en and creating a relaxed vibe perfect to unwind in.
From the moment my partner and I walked in to find a personalized welcome note and some delicious chocolates Wendy made sure our every need was met while still allowing us the privacy and seclusion Seido en offers in this fabulous retreat.
In Seido-en, we found tranquility and escape from routine. Immersed ourselves into the magic of the forest and enjoyed the ocean breeze.
Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Seido-en is just marvelous! The setting, the location (very close to Rucker Provincial Park), the ambiance - it all comes together wonderfully.
Host Wendy Webb has done a superlative job creating this unique retreat.
In fact, I’d give it 10 stars ⭐️ if I could!
We had a delightful stay at Seido-En. It was our first time on Salt Spring Island and we were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful Ruckle Park is and how incredibly close it was to the house. We even saw deer in the forest surrounding the house! It was such an immersive experience in nature. We had a very nice stay. Thank you.
This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The effort put into every little detail for decor, kitchen items, etc. made our stay effortless. The entire property is kept in immaculate condition and is absolutely gorgeous. The privacy of the suite and surrounding area makes it great for a quiet couples retreat.
Thanks so much Wendy, I certainly hope we can return in the future!

Simply Paradise
Peace and tranquility, a beautiful home with such detail and beauty, all the words or pictures do not show it’s true beauty,
It’s a living place, the hummingbirds and deer that visit the soft forest sounds,
Wendy has done an amazing job🙂
Wendy was a gracious host who went out of her way to make sure my husband and I felt relaxed throughout our stay.
I appreciated the quiet and tranquillity of this property. The esthetic took me back to the days when I lived in Japan in my early twenties.
days when I taighy
We recently stayed at the forest house on Salt Spring and loved it, it is a beautiful property, and with attention to detail there was always something new to discover. We needed a break from life for a few days and the forest house was a perfect place to relax and breath in the fresh air.
Thank you to Wendy and the fairies for making our stay so wonderful.
We will definitely return
We really enjoyed this quiet, private getaway. The Seido-en is secluded, surrounded by forest. We loved watching the deer daily roaming the property. There are beautiful waterfront hiking trails nearby and a hot tub or bathtub to relax in after. Wendy went above and beyond to make us comfortable! She is an incredible host. Thank you for a relaxing and refreshing vacation!
We are definitely going to be coming back here ! This stay saved our relationship! So quiet, and relaxing ! We hermitted in the cabin and enjoyed the hot tub for 4 glorious days and 3 nights. I have no complaints about this stay other than it was beyond expectations. Wendy is so amazing as well! Thank you for such an amazing experience !
Saido-en exceeded my expectations. A truly magical place to connect with self and nature. The property was clean, comfortable and there were many additional touches that the owner added to enhance the experience like fresh flowers. I plant to return!
What a special and magical place! Staying at Seido-en is unlike any other place I've been. In fact, it's more than a place to stay, it's an experience.
Tasteful music was playing upon our arrival, mood lighting was set, and the water feature in the living room immediately set a tranquil mood. The secluded forest is right outside the door along with a private hot tub that makes it all so relaxing.
All of the thoughtful little touches provided by our host, Wendy made it even more special and every last detail has been expertly appointed so that you can relax and let all your cares and worries go.
I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a enchanted place to stay.

Seido-En is a magical and contemplative sanctuary that deeply supported our desire to disentangle ourselves from the claims of our familiar urban life. It was restorative and we found Wendy to be incredibly helpful and responsive to any of our efforts to communicate a need. The location afforded a lot of privacy with convenient access to the Salish Sea via a short 15 minute hike which we enjoyed on almost a daily basis. The place itself has a very maternal calming quality that we found deeply comforting and serene. The kitchen is well equipped so we were able to be entirely self-sufficient and never needed to leave to eat out. We highly recommend anyone to consider staying at Seido-En.

About the host
Hosted by Wendy M. Webb
Wendy is a west coast girl through and through. Born in Vancouver she has mainly lived and worked on the coast but has also spent years travelling and working in other countries. She is an adventurer whether it is hiking across the Grand Canyon or trying a new recipe.
Why they chose this property
After deciding to leave work in 1996 Wendy sold her property on Decoury Island and house in Victoria BC and started the search for something that would fill more needs. In the 80's having discovered Salt Spring Island she returned to explore and see what could be found. It took driving every road on the Island to find this dead end, quiet, forested property that flowed with energy. This land even though logged badly was beautiful with the light flowing and filtering down from the southwest through the remaining cedar and fir. Yes, It was the flow and the light. Innocently she purchased it and the rest is history. Salt Spring offers everything one could want-beauty, quiet, culture and an amazing eclectic mix of people with a strong sense of community. The Island is rich in animal life and creative endeavor all related to the natural world. An Island away from the city but just big enough.
What makes this property unique
Salt Spring Island is a wonderful benefit in itself. There is a festival for everyone. The second largest gay pride parade in BC. It has become a well known destination. The famous farmers market located near the waterfront in Ganges Harbour is open April to October and draws many, featuring make-it, bake-it or grow-it. Local minstrels entertain the crowds. Amazing numbers of roadside farm stands and artists studios abound. Salt Spring has three wineries, a boutique brewery and cider house. International and national entertainment offered at various venues throughout the year.
