Our villa, Casa da Roda, is situated near Arganil in the Beiras region of Central Portugal.

The villa overlooks a lake with spectacular views of the mountains and is surrounded by a conservation area.

This is a perfect holiday for singles, couples, families or groups and is an ideal setting for workshops and retreats.

Why not try painting, bird watching, walking, fishing and more.

Taste the wines and cuisine of Portugal and enjoy nearby facilities which include horse riding, canoeing, etc.

You will be spoilt for choice with the selection of destinations to enjoy on your trips out which can include the University City of Coimbra (for shoppers and lovers of architecture), the broad white sandy beaches of the western coast and, to the east, the highest mountains in Portugal at Serra da Estrela.

If you prefer to relax at home, you can take in the views from the shaded verandahs and sunny patio with salt water swimming pool

Little piece of paradise
Stunning views and a beautifully maintained villa , photos do not do justice to this place. If you want a true taste of Portugal then you will have come to the right place. Spacious and comfortable property with a lovely pool area and plenty of space for outdoor dining. Very secluded so a car is essential. Unfortunately we didn’t realise how secluded and didn’t hire a car. But the host Geoff made sure we were well looked after , taking us into Arganil to stock up on food and drink and making sure our stay was comfortable and without stress. We even got to visit the local market with lots of local produce and the pop up chicken rotisserie with the locals , popular with the villagers who made us feel very welcome. If you love nature , bike rides , fishing , boating , walking and a true taste of Portugal then this is the place for you.

Het was echt heel fijn
Casa da Roda is geweldig. Rust, uitzicht, goed uitgeruste keuken (geen vaatwasser, maar verder van alle gemakken voorzien) zwembad, schaduwplekjes en volle zon. Wat wil een mens nog meer. Een heerlijk welkomstpakket met wijn, bier en etenswaren zet meteen de sfeer. Linda en Geoff zijn de meest vriendelijke en behulpzame gastdame en -heer die je je voor kunt stellen, zonder dat ze opdringerig zijn. Kortom een echt aanrader voor wie even een paar weekjes rust wil pakken.

Boendet och omgivningen var fantastiskt. Mycket trevligt att hyresvärden hade ordnat frukost, frukt och drycker i huset när vi anlände. Tyvärr hade vi inte samma tur med vädret.
