Higher Burrow Farm has just been completely renovated from top to bottom, and as it dates back to 1564 it is bursting with historic character whilst having the luxury and style akin to a boutique hotel giving you the best of both worlds. The property has a modern extension giving the home its heart with the open plan kitchen/diner which is perfect for celebration dinner parties. With great attention to detail, style and the heritage that has always been there you will be forever noticing the little things this stunning house has to offer.

Being located in Somerset, Higher Burrow Farm is situated in the beautiful English countryside; only being a few miles from the Somerset Levels you are surrounded by picture perfect villages, nature and even a local cider farm (Burrow Hill Cider) which is only a short walk from the house where they are very happy to let you try before you buy and tours can be arranged.

If all this exercise builds an appetite, then the local gastro pub the Lamb & Lion is the ideal antidote. The property is under the same ownership at the pub which means there are subsidised mini bus trips to the pub and you are also guaranteed a warm welcome upon arrival. There are also private dining areas for larger parties.

Relaxing, rejuvenating and tranquil holiday!

We loved every minute of it, sharing the house with all our married kids and grandkids - so much space for everyone, play areas, many many lounge areas, huge dining room, spacious hallways, a few ensuite bathrooms, fabulous strong power showers, the indoor jacuzzi - luxurious, the outdoor hot tubs - bliss! The kids also enjoyed watching Mr Robot do the lawns daily. The owners are lovely people. We never see or hear the neighbours, so it feels completely secluded and very private! The kitchen was very clean - which is very unusual for rentals and we appreciated that - sparkling clean ovens and fridge freezer too, no sticky worktops. All in - we would definitely come again! Thank You!!!!!

Perfect Place for a Hen Weekend or time away with friends

We booked Higher Burrow Farm to host a Hen weekend for 15 friends, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The home is enormous, with plenty of space for everyone in rooms that are fairly spacious, and several communal areas in which to relax, dine, watch tv or simply catch up on conversation. The outdoor area is especially lovely, with patio seating for all and a large umbrella to provide shade, and the rolling lawns and gardens make for the ideal place to have a picnic, sit under a tree and read a book or enjoy some lawn games. The large kitchen is well equipped, and the scullery/utility room with second fridge is ideal for hosting large gatherings when in need of additional space. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it!

Amazing stay!

Thanks so much, this place is beautiful. The house and the gardens are stunning. We had the best stay here for my friends Hen do. Everything was perfect, the area is beautiful and we visited the local cider farm. The house really did exceed our expectations, the beds are so comfortable too which is always a plus. If you’re thinking of booking, do it!

A fabulous hen do

The house exceeded all of our expectations, the gardens are absolutely beautiful and much bigger then they look in the photos, there are 3 garden areas that are to the back of the property - large enough for a game of rounders! The inside is huge, 3 different living spaces, a big open plan kitchen/ diner where we had a private chef cook for 17 people. A short walk (30mins) to the pub for a good pub lunch! Perfect set up for a hen do weekend, rooms are all big and loads of room for 17 people comfortably.

Hen party

We had the most wonderful weekend at Higher Burrow Farm celebrating a hen party, it was perfect for this occasion. Bedroom / bathroom ratio meant no one was waiting for showers, hot tubs were perfect for late afternoon chill time, garden is immaculate and the flowers are so pretty, very comfortable beds, open plan kitchen / dining was great for entertaining and the cider brewery a 10 minute walk away was the perfect activity. Highly recommend for celebrations!

Well-appointed, spacious, easy to relax in, with a beautiful garden.

Beautiful grounds, which were adequately secure and safe for children and our dog. Good, spacious kitchen/dining area, which accommodated us all. Children's books in the loft bedroom particularly appreciated. Generally comfortable and spacious, with a useful range of sitting rooms. Glad there were no white carpets! In the heatwave, fans would have been appreciated in the loft rooms. All contact with staff was exemplary.

60th birthday celebration

Stayed here for 5 nights. It’s a wonderful old house that is looked after clean and tidy. It’s old yet the facilities are modern. The rooms are fantastic and accommodated 15 of us. It’s a creaky house but wouldn’t expect anything else from it and made the stay everything we expected. The gardens are immaculate and the hot tubs are great with a fantastic view. BBQ is excellent and we used it constantly from breakfast to evening meals. It’s a gem !

Very well equipped and clean large farm house with great outdoor space

We all had a lovely time at Higher Burrow Farm. The 2 outdoor jacuzzi were a hit and the outside space was also good. Only down side to the outside space is the smell of manure. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay but couldn't stay out too long due to the smell wafting in the air. We also experienced a lot flies inside the house so unfortunately had to keep the doors closed at all times. Obviously, this can't be helped because we are in the countryside but we have stayed in many countryside homes and have never had to deal with the amount of flies we dealt with whilst staying here. The house itself is very quirky and there were a lot of space to accommodate everyone however, the floor boards were too squeaky! With no exaggeration, every time someone walked around upstairs (even tiptoeing), it squeaked very loudly (squeaky/cracking sound). There are more positives than negatives as we all found the beds to be very comfortable and the water pressure for all bathrooms were very strong. We all loved the jacuzzi bath in the house. We would've definitely used it more if the weather was not great but we managed to use the outdoor jacuzzi a lot. The kitchen was well equipped, though the pans could do with being replaced (non stick not working as well). Bedrooms were well proportioned and there were sufficient space for everyone. Only thing we would mention is the 2 bedrooms (1 double and 3 single beds) located in the attic were separated with curtains and it did get extremely warm up there as expected as warm air rises and with the weather being very warm during our stay (mid 20s). We couldn't imagine sleeping up there during a heatwave. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. We're a party that consisted of 4 families and have been doing UK staycations for over 10 years.

Really high quality accommodation, in a beautiful location - loved it!

Fantastic mix of living spaces, each with character. Wonderful and well-equipped kitchen, leading into a huge dining area, or out into one part of the garden. All the bedrooms have their own touch of style and class, and all are very attractive and very comfortable. Bathrooms galore! Character and cute little cubby holes everywhere. Two lovely hot tubs right next to each other, and an outdoor table and chairs, but right next to the house for ease of coming and going. Fantastic views, and so quiet and relaxing. Owners and agents both very welcoming and helpful. There were 16 of us staying there, and there was plenty of room for us not to be living on top of each other, but designed well enough for us to be able to come together and socialise together too. Would love to visit again soon, and recommend it highly.
