Great views, challenging access and “rustic” accommodations.
While we loved this apartment’s location, it couldn’t make up for its lack of amenities or the overall odor.
We will lead with the positives. The views and proximity to the bridge cannot be beat.
The first issue we had was that the building smelled like cat urine. Not sure what this was from, but the odor was strong and very off-putting.
The second issue was maybe something we should have taken note of from the pictures, but want to make future renters aware; there was NO storage for renters. No place to unpack (no dressers or wardrobes) no place to hang anything to speak of, not even a luggage rack. I guess the expectation is to live out of you suitcase but when that has to lay on the floor, that’s not very realistic. It was to the point that we went to Ikea and bought a clothing rack and hangers and shelves that we left behind. We hope the property owners leave it to make things better for future renters. Additionally the bedding was lacking. The two twins only had one pillow each and there was nothing to make up the sleeper sofa with.
Finally a couple of notes. While the pictures imply your “private terrace” has the beautiful city view, that is a shared and not accessible space. Your private terrace is surrounded on all sides by rock walls and has a caged top. It’s like being at the bottom of a well.
Second note is the stairs (while not part of our rating, guests need to be aware of this challenge). The location that gives you that AMAZING view is at the top of a massive staircase (or at the bottom of an even longer climb down!). Trying to navigate luggage to this location is a challenge for anyone not part mountain goat.
Loved Porto and loved our view but won’t be back to this apartment because of the issues noted.
