La Grange is a one bedroom self contained country cottage in Fresville attached but separate to the larger cottage - La Vallee. La Grange has one upstairs bedroom with double bed and a downstairs sofa bed that can sleep 1 to 2 people.

La Grange is tastefully decorated and equipped to the highest standards and can be rented in conjunction with the adjacent La Vallee to provide accommodation for larger parties.

This beautiful cottage is the perfect place for relaxing after a busy day exploring.
Ideal as a base for touring the nearby D Day Landing beaches and museums , La Grange is surrounded by beautiful Normandy countryside, just perfect for walkers and cyclists to enjoy.

Stay at La Grange

La Grange is a nice little place in a quiet little area. There are no amenities in this hamlet, but it is fairly close to Sainte-Mère-Église that has everything. The only real negative for us personally, and this is something that the host has no control over, is that the WiFi signal is very, very slow. This is just to let others know, to whom this may be an important factor, and not really a negative on the home itself. The home itself is very comfortable and well-appointed.

Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub in dieser sehr schönen, gepflegten Ferienwohnung. Die Wohnung ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es hat uns an nicht's gefehlt. Sogar ein kleines Begrüßungspacket lag bereit, worüber wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und kulant und haben für jede Frage jederzeit ein offenes Ohr. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können diese hervorragende Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. P.S. - keinerlei Parkschwierigkeiten, da um die Ecke ein weiterer Parkplatz zur Verfügung stand - Keine Störgeräusche durch Wasserpumpe während des gesamten Aufenthaltes wahrgenommen.

Belle propriété, la cour est comme annoncé partagé avec le grand gîte voisin. Il faut donc se coordonner surtout pour les voitures mais l'équipe d'accueil est là pour nous aider.

Ruhig gelegenes sauberes Ferienhaus unweit von St. Mère Eglise

Unsere Erfahrung mit dem Haus, den Besitzern und deren Helfern vor Ort war sehr positiv. Das Haus ist zwar klein, aber sehr gemütlich. Die Nachbarn, die den Besitzern helfen, waren sehr nett und haben und paar Sachen zum Essen mitgebracht, was wir sehr gastfreundlich fanden. Bei allen Angelegenheiten waren alle sehr zugänglich und hilfsbereit und alles wurde schnell gelöst. Das Haus liegt in einer schönen ländlichen Gegend unweit von Saint Mère Eglise, man kann von dort aus die Contentin-Halbinsel sehr gut erforschen.

An ideal property for two people. Very clean and well equipped. It is in a quiet location yet has easy access to main roads. Communication with the owners was excellent, they were especially helpful with a problem that we had.

La Grange

L'intérieur du gîte est tout à fait bien. En revanche, il n'est pas précisé dans l'annonce que ce gîte en juxtapose un autre (La Vallée). Le descriptif est malheureusement trompeur. Il n'est pas possible de se reposer sereinement. Cela pose également des problèmes pour le parking des véhicules dans la mesure où il est difficile de garer son véhicule en-dehors du gîte. Et comme l'autre gîte est plus grand, il peut y avoir 2 véhicules... plus le vôtre. D'autre part, la pompe de relevage d'eau se situe dans la cour et se met en fonction tous les 1/4 d'heures, occasionnant du bruit et surtout dégageant de mauvaises odeurs. Les propriétaires résident en Angleterre. Le couple en charge de l'intendance est fort sympathique. Toutefois, cela ne fait pas oublier que les propriétaires ne sont pas corrects sur la description de leur gîte.

Beau duplex au cœur du bocage normand

Petit duplex plein de cachet pour deux adultes et un petit enfant (lit d'appoint) . Il manque un peu d'intimité car le logement n'est pas indépendant. Bien placé, au calme, à 20 minutes de la mer et des plages du débarquement et à 10 minutes des commerces. Accueil sympa.

We have rented La Grange and La Valle many times in the past and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. We often thought one day we might like to buy the properties and when the opportunity to do so came along we did just that.
We enjoy being in Fresville and we hope you can enjoy our holiday home as much as we do

Why they chose this property

We are in the WW2 June 6th 1944 Invasion Beaches close to Utah Beach, 4 miles from Ste Mere Eglise, 4 miles from Carentan,
Set in the heart of a conservation area of significant importance we are in the beautiful and stunning Parc Naturel Cotentin et du Bessin
Ste Marie du Mont was the first village in France to be liberated on June 6th 1944. Ste mere Eglise still has the parachutist effigy hanging from the church tower.
Band of Brothers story featured in episodes 2 & in the very heart of where we are located.
Along the coast other invasion beaches such as Point du Hoc Arromanches, with its visible remains of the Mulberry Harbour, are all easy access and well worth a visit.
There is so much to do here, not just the invasion beaches.... Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St Michel, Caen, UNESCO St Vaast la Hougue & the Isle Tatihou, Barfleur where William the Conqueror (set sail from), Briquebec, St Saveur Vicompte & Valognes where castles exist from the 100 years war. We have Roman remains, the 1st stone built castle against the Vikings, Hitlers defences in the Atlantic wall
