About this property

Modern Cottage in the heart of the Berkshires with new exterior flex space!

Drive down our private road to find an adorable and spacious cottage, nestled on four secluded wooded acres, with every modern amenity including central air conditioning, Internet TV and WIFI. Added for 2021 - Custom shed that serves as an office with direct ethernet connection OR for fabulous movie watching or yoga space. Stay plugged in or disconnect and enjoy the faint whooshing sound of the Housatonic River and the exquisite natural beauty around our property and in the Berkshires. Our home has three bedrooms plus a den with a pull-out couch. The three bedrooms are on the second floor. There is a spacious primary bedroom suite with a king bed and an attached, walk-out deck, private bathroom and a large walk-in closet that is big enough for a pack-in-play for the little one. The two other bedrooms have a queen bed and a full/double size bed with ample closet space and a full bath for those bedrooms to share. There is also a half bath on the main level. All of the mattresses are new and extremely high quality. On the first floor, there is a den with a full-sized pull-out couch which doubles as a peaceful reading room or a playroom for the kids. If you like to cook, enjoy the spacious open-concept kitchen. There is a lovely screened-in porch for al fresco dining and a covered porch to relax and unwind, which also has a gas grill. ADDED IN 2022 - 60 amp dedicated outlet in garage to charge your Electric Vehicle. And for added security there is a video doorbell installed on the front door.

This house had it all. From a beautiful back yard that was open space surrounded by mountains and forest. 3 large bedrooms with dining room and den with pullout sleeping sofa. Fireplace and fire Pitt. A shed that is paneled in light wood with TV and internet. Oh almost forgot A/C…. My grandkids called it a little house. The house has it all from books ,games ,puzzles and spices in kitchen . It was like going to a friend’s house after they said it’s well stocked just bring you clothes. Oh yes beach chairs laundry machine and on and on. The owner Alison could not be more caring and responsive. She responds quickly. Not much we needed from her but she was always available. I recommend this house highly and renting a house is kind of a partnership between owner and renter. They represent a great house and we take care of it to show our appreciation. Rent it quickly it may go fast.

My family just spent the weekend here and absolutely loved our stay. It was a multi generational stay (myself, my husband, our two small kids and his parents) and everyone loved the home and raved about their stay. My kids were thrilled to find toys in the toy chest on the first floor and had so much fun running around the backyard and watching movies out in the she shed while the adults got to enjoy some time on the spacious and beautiful patio. The house was in pristine condition and our bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and I loved how thought out everything was throughout the home. The multiple dining spaces were also a huge plus as we got to enjoy some meals on the screened in patio and some more casual meals in the kitchen area. Location wise, we were a quick drive to the downtown of Stockbridge but only a 10 minute drive from so many other towns, so we always had something to do. If you are looking for a beautiful, cozy, clean and wonderful location for your next Berkshire getaway this is your home!

Winter Weekend Getaway

Great location in the heart of the Berkshires. The house is secluded (can’t see a single neighbor) yet just minutes from anything you want or need. Flexible space easily accommodated our family weekend (even when we were snowed in). Great communication with our host.

Great house on a beautiful property

Such a peaceful, private property. We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the birds. The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. Worked well for six adults. Plenty of spots to relax. We had everything we needed. Easy drive to both Great Barrington and Stockbridge. I recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area.

We had another wonderful weekend! The house is perfectly appointed, the home is clean and welcoming. The property is beautiful. Another Amazing Stay in Stockbridge

We had a wonderful stay at Valentine Lane again this summer! This is the second summer that we have stayed for several weeks. The house is incredibly comfortable and has everything we could need and the owner is always helpful and responsive, often replying within minutes if we had a question about anything. The house is particularly well set up for remote work because of the separate and well-finished shed. We love how dog friendly the house is - our large golden retriever really enjoyed the huge backyard. The house also features a beautiful sunroom that is perfect for both working and eating. We look forward to coming back again!

Great Berkshires retreat!

We loved this rental. It was clean, comfortable, spacious, and the LOCATION was perfect. We skied butternut and catamount, hung out in great Barrington, and the house was close to everything. It is in the center of it all- and yet feels very private and remote. The hosts were very responsive, and we would certainly return.

Beautiful Berkshires in the woods

This was the perfect spot for our weekend getaway to the Berkshires. The location is easy to find and close to the town. Check in was a breeze. The home is roomy and well appointed. We enjoyed the books and art. The yard is spacious and lovely and the area very quiet. The hosts are helpful and communication is excellent!

We are a fun-loving family of 6 (two parents, two kids, a pug an an old english sheepdog) who share an absolute love of the Berkshires, "our happy place". Nothing beats hanging out under a shady tree while the kids frolic in the lake or a hike that ends in a waterfall. We live full- time in Maplewood, NJ.

We warmly welcome adults (and dogs) of any ethnicity, color, religion and sexual orientation.

Why they chose this property

It was love at first sight. It's such a cute home! It has the perfect balance of privacy and comfort while being a quick drive to amazing restaurants and all the Berkshires have to offer. My kids love the large backyard.

What makes this property unique

Location and modern amenities such as central air, which is wonderful on hot days. This house is suitable for a "working vacation" because of the excellent Wifi and office shed but it is also an ideal place for unwinding and discovering the Berkshires. The house is very kid-friendly and all dogs, even big ones are considered.
