My friend booked this VRBO for wedding anniversary and we had the best getaway. The property is gorgeous and serene and the host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We definitely want to stay here again.
Maud and her villa was an absolutely wonderful stay. Her place was a beautiful oasis hidden in Middleburg. The location was perfect as well. She had special touches like creamer and waters in the fridge. The pool was amazing!
The property was a basement turned into a room to rent. The smoke detector was missing- we have pics- for an aged gas fireplace. The entry /exit area did not have a key & we were not provided with one. This was falsely advertised. We were not given a proper check in with documents. Beware!

Bait & Switch
I made the reservations based on the description of the property as well as the pictures on the VRBO web-site. The room was damp, dusty, smelled musky and was dirty. I wish there were a way to upload photo's, I took many as to the filth that was in the room, it appeared as though the room, was closed tight and hadn't been open in months.
My husband and I had intended to visit our favorite winery and return to the property to enjoy the scenery based on the pictures of the web-site, unfortunately what a disappointment. The description stated that we could sit in the Adirondack chairs with views of the garden and pool. The garden was nothing but weeds and the pool was cracked, green and broken items were all around, definitely not what we expected. To say the least, I would not return or recommend this property to anyone.

Not great
Honestly we left within a couple of hours of being there. We were really creeped out by the paintings. I’m sure it would be better outside in the summer but in the winter time it was just creepy.
We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Maude was very responsive to our text inquiries.
Positives:
The accommodation was comfortable. It has a terrific view and the patio is delightful. There is abundant wildlife and birds in the area to watch. The fireplace was a treat as the nights we stayed were chilly. The location gives easy access to nearby wineries while still providing a country setting.
Suggestions:
Perhaps it would be an option to make two booking prices available - one with breakfast included in the price and one with just the room. That would allow the host and guest to plan ahead more easily. Most guests probably assume that a B & B includes breakfast, as the name implies. The breakfast we had was delicious and other guests would also enjoy that option.
With an extended stay, a daily check-in with the room would allow the host to check supply levels and guest needs.
Booking was simple. Owner responded quickly to questions. Perfect getaway thanks!

Enjoyable
We enjoyed our stay in this suite. It was nice & cozy. As mentioned before, it had a good amount of amenities- mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee and tea available, cups, utensils, etc. Maud was very responsive to messages prior to our arrival and was very welcoming. She gave plenty of recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area.

Respite in the Country
Beautiful Setting in the Virginia countryside. Spent a week on business. The suite was a great place to relax and very comfortable for the 2 of us. Maude was there to greet us when we arrived and checked in frequently to see we needed anything. Will stay again on next trip to Virginia.

A lovely stay in the Country
This place is a beautiful retreat. My husband and I were able to get away from city life and de-stress for 2 nights. Watching the sunsets, listening to nature and being greeted by the donkey enhanced the experience. The owner thought of all the little amenities, coffee machine cream, plates, napkins and other little touches. There are colorful interesting paintings in the room that make it a very unique place to stay. We will be back.
