About this property

Tichbourne Street - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4

This coastal bolthole is fabulous… a former fisherman’s cottage packed with character. The nets and lines replaced with nautical interiors of blues and whites. Sitting in an elevated spot overlooking Mumbles with amazing sea views from the terrace and gardens. A spacious holiday home for four - perfect for a family or couples looking for a seaside escape on the Gower Peninsula.

Explore the nearby sandy beaches, stroll to Caswell Bay and have lunch at one of the cafes. Follow the prom to the Oyster Wharf with it’s stylish shops and bars with views over the bay.
Mumbles is a delightful coastal village, home to some excellent galleries and cafes. Drive along the Gower Peninsular and step back in time with a visit to one of the many castles or stroll along the coastal paths. There’s something for everyone.

Narrow and tight hilly lanes to the property
Parking was a little touch and go even with a residents permit. - the property itself was a lovely bolt hole on one incredibly steep hill to the coast. We arrived to a bottle of semi skimmed milk and 1/4 of one loo roll and some Welsh cakes so first visit was to a local Tesco. Can’t fault the property we did feel a better welcome pack after a long drive would have been nice. No tea or coffee provided. Clean - wonderfully decorated and once we had groceries we could relax.

Weekend break
Very comfortable cottage on a very steep hill. The hill was a surprise as we hadn’t been to Mumbles before, but the views were wonderful as was the warm dry weather. A perfect spot for us to visit my grandson at Swansea University and for him to cycle down to see us. Lovely!

Lovely little house with views of the bay from the master bedroom balcony and garden terrace.
We spent a great week here. The house is really well placed at very short walking distance to the promenade and Mumbles shops, cafes and restaurants. You can walk over the hill to the lighthouse and beach or drive very easily to any of the other amazing Gower beaches within about half an hour. The house itself was perfect for us. Nicely decorated, cosy and homely. The kitchen has all the utensils you need if you prefer to self-cater. The road was steep but well worth the short climb for the view. You can park in flat neighbouring streets (or, I think, get yourself a residents' permit for the week though we did not bother). The neighbours on both sides were very friendly. We would definitely recommend the house and are hoping to come back again!
