WALK EVERYWHERE!! Downtown Designer Home Close to Everything in Huntsville
Welcome to Historic Hummell House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our 3,000 square foot spacious home features four very large bedrooms and three fully renovated bathrooms to accommodate your entire entourage comfortably. We lovingly restored this grand home from the ground up in 2015 and it features 10 foot ceilings, original hardwoods, a grand staircase, comfortable furnishings and bedding, as well as designer light fixtures, artwork, and decor. We take great pride in providing an upscale, thoughtfully designed space for our guests. Our design work has been featured in numerous publications including Southern Living, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Apartment Therapy.
The gourmet kitchen has stainless appliances, marble counters, and a chef’s GAS range. The dining room has a table custom-made from original wood ceiling beams salvaged from the home during renovation and can easily seat eight guests. Kick back and relax in the living room on our cozy, down filled couch. The master bedroom is located on the main level and has a plush king-sized bed, an original fireplace, a spacious attached bathroom with double vanity, and a large walk-in closet. (The master suite is THE perfect space for a bride and her bridesmaids to get ready for her big day.) The main level also features a luxurious glamour bath with a large soaker tub, ready for you to rest and relax on your vacation. There are three large bedrooms upstairs, two with queen beds, and one with three twin beds. If a reservation is made for ten guests, an air mattress can also be provided for the additional guest. The third bathroom is also upstairs, as well as a large sitting area. Washer/Dryer, WIFI, and cable is included.
Our home is perfect for weddings guests, honeymooners, family gatherings and vacations, traveling executives, couples and friends, or anyone looking for a quiet place to retreat that is near all of the downtown action. Don’t feel like cooking? We have over ten restaurants and bars within three blocks. Enjoy historical architecture? Take a stroll through our picturesque Old Town Historic neighborhood that features homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s. We are also on the route for numerous races including the Rocket City Marathon and the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run. So, if you are coming into town for a race, chances are, your family can cheer for you from the front porch! Traveling with kids or a baby? We understand. We can provide a portable crib upon request. We also have a brand new children’s park one block away.

It was wonderful hosting y'all! Please come back and visit anytime!
Charming house with whimsical decorating touches in all the rooms of this restored historical property. Rooms are large and comfortable. The location is ideal for walking tours of the historic downtown district.
This place is bigger than what the pictures seemed, the neighborhood is very nice and we had no problems walking directly to downtown. I would love to move to that area but meanwhile we highly recommend the stay as it couldnt have been more perfect for the occasion. We all were very impressed with our stay!!!
Perfect, charming house for out of town guests to enjoy and have easy access to downtown events, restaurants and shopping. Our guests loved this house and its cool, artsy vibe and comfortable amenities.
Older house - has alot of history. House had everything we needed including a huge tub for soaking. Really appreciated the snacks as i was starving after a long flight.
My family most enjoyed the proximity to downtown and all the excellent food. I most enjoyed the walks in the historic sections of Huntsville. The house was clean clean clean and the beds comfortable. The size was perfect for my two tweens, my daughters and an infant as well as my grown son and his partner.
A beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood! Everything was perfect, plenty of room for a getaway with adult kids, beautifully decorated and spotless with comfy beds! Lots of fun places to eat and visit within walking distance. Shannon was so accommodating with communication and a change in dates! This is def a must stay for families of all ages!
The house was great for my family of 8 adults and a 15 yr old. Just a couple of small things. No toaster in the kitchen and no towel racks anywhere. Small things, but necessary for a family of 9. We loved the area and everything else about the house
We were in Huntsville for a wedding and rented the Hummel house for my wife and I and our adult children. It is a very nice house in a quiet neighborhood and we will rent it again if we are in Huntsville again. My only caution to other renters is that three bedrooms are located upstairs but only one bathroom which necessitate coordination.
Such a neat home with lots of character! In a perfect, quiet neighborhood that was perfect to stay with my mom and sister for a girls' trip while my son attended Space Camp. The location was perfect - a short drive or walk to downtown, great to get out for morning strolls, and easy access to the interstate. We enjoyed many local restaurants, making candles at Holtz, the french bakery, and the local microbreweries. We will be back!
This house is in a good location, close to downtown. The house is large with plenty of room for everyone. The only problem with the house is the AC controls are locked in boxes, so you have no control of the temperature settings.

Thank you for staying at our home! This is a "smart home" and the temperature is controlled remotely. We are happy to change the temperature, all you have to do is ask! We can usually change it within a matter of minutes.
The location was amazing! The house was spacious and easily accommodated our large group of 6 adults and 3 kids. I had quite a few questions and the Host Shannon was extremely responsive and helpful. The only bummer was that there is no backyard at all, but it was not advertised with one so I shouldn’t be surprised! Overall it was great and I would definitely recommend this house!
