About this property

Lapwing Lodge - a very comfortable and spacious seaside log chalet in an ideal position a minutes w

Lapwing Lodge, is one of three unique and very comfortable lodges set in a stunning and enviable position a minute's walk from the beach. Lapwing, Skylark and Curlew Lodge each have their own space and privacy as they are set in about half and acre of landscaped ground which runs down to the beach so lots of room for outside BBQs and games of football. Lapwing is sunny, light and spacious inside with a large open plan living area with a cosy woodburning stove for winter evenings (though heating is provided!). In the summer throw open the french doors and watch the sun setting over Criffel (our local mountain) . Lovely views both across the fields to the mountain and sea views across the Solway Firth. There are great walks straight from the door so very popular with both couples and families (take all three lodges for large family gatherings or bring your friends). A 10 minute walk along the beach is a great pub that does good food. We get lots of repeat bookings from people who enjoy this very special bit of the Dumfries and Galloway countryside, the wildlife, the scenery, the birdlife (we are between two important bird sanctuaries - Mersehead and Caerlavrock), the beach, mountain biking, the golf - to name but a few of the many nearby attractions. It is a totally unspoilt region that revels in it's uniqueness that also attracts many artists who draw on it for inspiration. It really is the perfect place to get away from it all. Once you've been, you'll want to come back!

Perfect theraphy
Perfect location with the beach as your back garden. Warm and cosy with absolutely everything you need. The quietness of the beach made the holiday for us. My only suggestion would be for some new dining room chairs as they were broken when we arrived. This didn't spoil it for us at all though.
