The apartment was perfect, and the description was as stated. Loved staying in the little town square, everything was close by and just lovely. Would recommend and would stay here again.
We have stayed here at least 5 times, it’s perfect for us.

Great place, beautifully furnished, very convenient télé family or two couples. Brilliant
We recently stayed for a week while visiting family and greeting a new grandchild. The flat is comfortable, beautifully designed and was a perfect place to gather before dining in the area. Great beds and baths, lovely well stocked kitchen and lounge. The Lomond was our best Milngavie stay ever!
Alistair was wonderful to work with. The location was great in the Town Center with easy access to the train station and grocery stores. Highly recommend and if we make it to Scotland again will rebook.
Great spot for the beginning of West Highland Way. Several restaurants nearby as well as the train if you want to go to Glasgow for the day.

Rebecca was a superb guest at West Highland Apartments, staying in 'The Lomond' and would be welcome back again in the future.
The apartment offers anyone visiting Milngavie the opportunity to enjoy the many restaurants, coffee shops with easy access to the Train Station in order to get into Glasgow City and Edinburgh City. West Highland Apartments are the closest dedicated pair of traditional Victorian Apartments to the start of West Highland Way and have been open since 2017, the longest serving short term accommodation in Milngavie.
Really clean, comfortable flat in centre of village, close to train to Glasgow centre, yet all amenities were in the village.

Excellent property in a perfect location for setting off to walk the West Highland Way. It is incredibly close to both the railway station and the start of the West Highland Way. Everything was clean and comfortable. The host responded almost immediately to any messages I sent and had emailed the week before arrival with very thorough information.
Thank you for a great stay
We very much enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect place to prepare to walk the West Highland Way. The location was about 5 minutes from the train station, and about one minute from the beginning of the West Highland Way. The apartment was clean and well-appointed. There were two of us, and we each had our own room and bathroom. I would definitely stay here again!
Modern, immaculate, nice amenities, very pleasant.
Two small suggestions: provide a coat hook in the bedroom for longer items of apparel (robes, coats); bathroom waste bins are tiny for travelers staying more than a few days.

Thanks James, neither of those things have ever crossed my mind but a good shout and will get both of them implemented, I do like constructive feedback. Thanks for staying us and hopefully see you again. Best Alistair
This property is as exactly as described no disappointment at all. Alistair is very helpful in anyway he can. We loved the location and the ease of getting anywhere by Transit. The shops and restaurants were also great.
You won’t be disappointed.
Hope to be back sometime.
Thanks,

We rented The Lomond for 10 days in October 2024 while visiting family in Milngavie. All communication was thorough and clear. Check-in was easy. The flat was quite clean and had most everything we needed. Comfortable beds and plenty of pillows! The location in the pedestrian village of Milngavie is great with so many shops (including Tesco) within easy walking distance.
West Highland Apts will be at the top of our list for our next visit.
Everything was good except the wrong entrance code was sent to us.
This caused a very embarrassing wait until it was resolve.
This communication error needs attention by VRBO. This was not the first time this has happened at that location.
We had the loveliest of stays at the Lomond. Disappointed in the website we booked it through as the checkin instructions were incorrect and the property has a very easy manual which we could have done with seeing before we arrived. VRBO not sure what happened…?
Spotless and beautiful 2-bed flat, right on the High Street
The flat was easy to find, and very clean. There were several items included to make our stay much better! (Tea, coffee, cereal). We enjoyed staying right in the heart of Milngavie, and will definitely use the flat again.
Great place to be
Near the train station, heart of town w everything within walking distance

Thanks Donald and so glad you enjoyed your stay.
As you rightly state we are so lucky to have main transport links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Highlands on the doorstep, let alone the West Highland Way 100 metres from the front door. I am also delighted you enjoyed visiting the picturesque Milngavie and its stunning town centre, along with all it has to offer.
You were fabulous guests, so accommodating and we would welcome you back anytime. Please take care and stay safe, we very much look forward to hearing from you and seeing you again.
Best wishes

excellent stay
auf unserer 13 tägigen Schottlandtour wohl die beste Unterkunft. Liegt zwar in der Einflugschneise von Glasgow Airport, doch das Apartment holt diesen Nachteil wieder raus.

About the host
Hosted by Alistair Haydock
Born and bred in Milngavie, I have loved growing up in one of Scotland’s best villages (some would say town). The surrounding areas are amazing for walking, running, cycling... and a real breath of fresh air! This area boasts some of Scotland’s best features: West Highland Way (Europe's most popular walk), Mugdock Country Park (inc cinema), Waterworks and many more. They have been on my doorstep all my life and I have never tired of their beauty which improves with every season.
My desire for the outdoors inspired this Air BNB project, offering every visitor the opportunity to see wonderful Milngavie and its surroundings from the heart of the village. If you need someone to show you around or advise what the town has to offer, I would be delighted to help. I simply love the outdoors, finding new trails and exploring.
I have been lucky enough to travel a lot of the world as my parents work on Cruise ships as musicians, and have done for over 40 years. I was very fortunate to see a lot of the world first hand with them. Norway probably tops my list of scenic trips, as the Fjords are simply breathtaking, but having visited China, Russia, Africa, North America and other parts of the world, everywhere offers something amazing.
As a musician, I play the sax and piano, and even thought about it as a profession, but decided other paths would be for me. Give me a good gig any day of the week, from Jazz, Classical, Rock, Pop or simply open mic nights.
Food and films play a huge part of my social calendar and believe it or not Milngavie has its own cinema, small in stature (50 seats), but fun to visit in Mugdock Country Park. I love war, action and non-fiction films if possible. As for food, yes please, and I am not fussy, I’ll try anything (apart from Ribena and Chocolate Orange). We are very lucky for good food in Milngavie, there is plenty to choose from.
I really want to make my guests welcome and enjoy visiting the Milngavie village.
Why they chose this property
'The Lomond'' is situated on the first floor. You will be welcomed by a traditional Scottish 'Close' gaining access to the front door from two flights of stairs, around 20 in total. The apartment has been refurbished with the traveller in mind, but also being careful to retain some of the original Victorian features.
The apartment has a modernised kitchen, including oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer. There is also a dining table in the bay window for four people to enjoy a home cooked meal. If cooking at home isn't your thing, there are several restaurants within 100 metres for you to enjoy stunning Scottish food, or just a drink. Garvies restaurant is 15 metres from the apartment front door and currently offer any guests at West Highland Apartment 20% off their food bill.
The apartment has two double bedrooms offering a pair of single beds in both the master and second bedroom. Both bedrooms have wardrobe space and a hair dryer.
The main living room of the property offers a large 3 seat leather sofa and two Ikea leather chairs for the weary (or not so weary) traveller to relax. There is a 55” 4K TV with Virgin Fiber if you fancy a movie night streaming HD Netflix completely free of charge.
What makes this property unique
West Highland Apartments have been built for you, the traveller. However, it is absolutely the pride and joy of everyone who contributed to it, so please treat it with the utmost respect. We really want you to enjoy your stay in Milngavie, one of Scotland’s best towns, whether you make the most of the beautiful local walks, simply use it as a gateway to the City of Glasgow, or as a starting point for the Highlands, its location is just perfect and we want you to be warm and comfortable.
Milngavie Town Centre currently boasts twelve places to eat and enjoy a coffee: Costa, Fantoosh, Finsbay, Garvies, Café Alba, to name a few. It has over 120 businesses operating from the centre and its popularity is growing year on year. Milngavie is most recognised for being the start of the West Highland Way, but other walks, including the Clyde Costal Path, also meet in Milngavie.
Throughout the year many events take place in the town including the Highland Games, Cycling Events, Car Events, Milngavie Folk Club, so you will have plenty to choose from on your visit. Don’t forget the stunning Mugdock Country Park or Waterworks for a stroll and a coffee.
West Highland Apartments are situated 150 metres from Milngavie Train Station, which gives you access to Glasgow City Centre in 20 minutes or Edinburgh in just over an hour. You could even head off up the west coast, and enjoy a day at the seaside. The options are endless with this amazing location. The apartment is also located on the main bus routes including the 60 and 60A.
If walking is your thing then you will have Europe’s most popular walk right at your door: the West Highland Way, offering the stunning scenery of the West Coast, Loch Lomond and much more. It’s simply the best walk around. If you’d rather stay more local, Milngavie Waterworks offers a flat and pleasant walk, but equally stunning. Finally, Mugdock Country Park is truly beautiful in all seasons.
