Within easy reach of Lauterbrunnen village with shops, restaurants and local train/cable car services to Interlaken and the Alpine villages of Wengen, Grindlewald and Murren, from which you can access hundreds of kilometers of walking trails and ski runs.
Lauterbrunnen is a small alpine village in the famous Jungfrau region of Switzerland. It is the ideal base for both summer and winter holidays for hiking, skiing, sledging or mountain biking, or you can take gentle walks through the breathtaking mountain scenery. The valley has 72 waterfalls, including the 300 m high Staubbach Falls at the edge of the village and the Trummelbach Falls, which thunder through mountain caverns.
The village itself has several shops and restaurants, as well as a post office and two banks. There is also a small convenience store (open all week) a few minutes walk from the apartment.
Lauterbrunnen is the starting point for the cable cars and mountain railways which climb through beautiful scenery to the car free resorts of Wengen and Murren (both less than 20 minutes from the apartment) and onto the Jungfraujoch, which at 3454 m is Europe's highest railway station. The Schiltorn/Piz Gloria, made famous by James Bond is at the end of this valley.
Summer in the Berner Oberland: The Lauterbrunnen Valley is known as the valley of waterfalls and is a mecca for all outdoor and extreme sports. The short walk (1km) to Lauterbrunnen Station is the starting point to give you access to mountain railways and cable cars and the mountain villages they serve. From these villages you have an almost limitless choice of walking and cycling trails of varying difficulties. From the apartment you can walk along the river path, past the Trummelbach Falls to Stechelberg. From here you can catch the cable car up to Schilthorn/Piz Gloria, made famous in the James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' and its revolving restaurant. Staying in the village gives you access to shops and excellent restaurants, tennis, swimming and mini-golf. The Air Glacier Helicopters run pleasure flights around the region.
Winter in the Berner Oberland: The ski and toboggan/sledding slopes of Wengen and Murren are less than 20 minutes from the apartment. The post bus stops outside the apartment and takes skiers and non-skiers directly to Lauterbrunnen station, and then trains and cable cars take you up to either Wengen or Murren. The ski season runs from December to April. There are 210 km of prepared pistes accessible from Lauterbrunnen (First, Kleine Scheidegg, Mannlichen and Murren-Schilthorn), covering beginner to advanced abilities, as well as opportunities for off-piste skiing with local guides. The cost of the ski pass includes access to all lifts, trains, cable cars and buses. Equipment is available to hire from local shops in the village.
There is an outdoor swimming pool in the village which is about 200 m from the apartment. In the winter there is an indoor pool at the Hotel Jungfrau (300 m from the apartment), which is open to non-residents. Some of the hotels also have spa facilities, for those after a little pampering. There is a communal tennis court and mini-golf less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment. In the winter, the tennis court becomes an ice rink. Hiking, skiing or simply soaking in the beautiful Alpine views - it’s all here waiting for you, so come and let us help you make some Swiss holiday memories!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lauterbrunnen and our stay at Chalet Edelweiss. We were able to walk to a wonderful restaurant for dinner and the bus stop was right outside our door which made getting to our day’s excursions very easy. The home had everything we needed and even though there was only one bathroom it worked well for our group of 4 women. I highly recommended Chalet Edelweiss if you are planning a holiday in or around Lauterbrunnen.
Home was exactly as we expected. Beds were comfortable, home was clean, view and location in the valley was perfect. Check in process and communication were seamless. A perfect location in this special area.
The balcony was incredible, place was spotless and was excellent for our family to stay at. The location was easy to access and close to a park and bridge into town.
I was very happy to find this place. Thank you!

Obvious the view was amazing. Unfortunately when we arrived the refrigerator has been turned off so it smelled pretty bad and had leaked on the floor in a few places. I understand during off season they don’t have many renters but feel the room should be checked before we arrive. I also understand that during off season some places are not open, unfortunately with that and the construction most things including restaurants were closed even after saying open online. We had to travel out most days for dining.
we chose this for location because it was not right in town but very close. half mile walk to center of town with stores, restaurants, rail and cable station. it is uphill to the town but doable for most. view from deck was simply amazing. (you do have to contend with a few goat and cow smells - goats are cute but you ARE in the country). covered parking was a dream. we cooked some meals and had adequate everything for cooking and eating for four. washer dryer were great. bedding was exceptional but we all found the mattresses a tad soft. bus stop was right there and we used it when too tired to walk to town. close waterfall visible at night was lit up and beautiful. You can walk to the big waterfall and back. we would rent this again if in the area and recommend it highly to others
We adored our stay at Chalet Edelweiss! The apartment was clean and comfortable, and was a convenient location for all our adventures while in Lauterbrunnen, but the balcony is really what made it perfect! It was the perfect spot to enjoy the scenery, have dinner or coffees, and relax!
This apartment was a great base camp for our stay in the area. Very easy to get to, and very easy to get everywhere from! The only issue we had was that we could not open the doors to the balcony from the living room. We were able to access the balcony from one of the bedrooms, though. We contacted the property manager on our first night to let her know about the issue and never heard back. As we were able to get to the balcony, we only sent that first email. Perhaps if we had been more persistent, we would have gotten a response. Again, that was a small issue and the overall stay was excellent. Would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.
Fantastic peaceful location and excellent accommodation
My family of five thoroughly enjoyed our time in the valley. The apartment is a short 10 minute walk from the town where you can easily take the train of gondola and be in Murren or Wengen in minutes. The views were magnificent and you wake up feeling like you have the valley to yourself. Apartment was well appointed and a great base for our adventures.
We loved our time at chalet edelweiss! It was cloudy the first couple days, but we had front row seats to the clouds rolling in and out halfway up the mountain in a different way than we’ve ever experienced before. It was incredible. When the sun popped out and blue sky appeared, it was sheer delight. We took Nancy’s suggestion to ride the cable car from Stechelberg to Murren, and also took the train to Wengen and a cable car to Mannlichen. Magical! The apartment was as pictured and very comfortable. We spent lots of time on the deck. The furniture and bed was cozy. You’ll love your stay here!
Nicely furnished and laid out unit with a fantastic view from the living room, bedroom and balcony. Great location for outdoor adventure. Beautiful fall colors (10/16-10/20 stay). You can expect to be serenaded by sheep bells from 8:00-5:00 or so--charming! We're told the town mostly closes down around 10/21 until ski season.
A lovely first floor flat with balcony, three ample-sized bedrooms, and first class cooking and laundry facilities.

Excellent Stay
We stayed at Nancy apartment for 2 nights we went to watch the lauberhorn Ski race. We loved the apartment and of course the wonderful view. The chalet was spacious, extremely clean and well kept. The kitchen had everything that we needed, the bathroom had plenty of room and the bedrooms had a lot of hanging area and draws. Lauterbrunnen was a fantastic place and it was easy travelling in the immediate area and beyond. Nancy was very helpful before and during out stay.
thank you

Home away from home
The chalet was extremely clean. We felt right at home during our honeymoon stay here. The process of checking in and out was very smooth and simple. The location is perfectly placed behind a bus stop. We had such a relaxing visit here and definitely recommend it!
