Overall a fabulous week in the lakes, love Ambleside and this flat is so close to all amenities plus
Overall a fabulous week in the lakes, love Ambleside and this flat is so close to all amenities plus good walking on doorstep. My criticism regarding flat is simple things need sorting, cooker hood and light temperamental, some bulbs need replacing, the window in the bedroom does not stay up and the cold water tap in bathroom drips. As said just simple things which can be easily be put right, however overall a comfortable stay.

As other reviewers have said, it was noisy on the weekend nights.
As other reviewers have said, it was noisy on the weekend nights. There's a music venue opposite that serves until 1am and the noise carried on well after that. The beds are comfortable and lounge etc well equipped. So on the whole, we enjoyed the property. For some reason, the kitchen carried a bit of a smell from the moment we walked in - not sure where it was coming from. There were air fresheners on the stairs as you walk in which suggests this is a lingering problem and not new. If you are at all nervous on your feet, I would advise against booking. The metal stairs up to the property and treacherously slippy in the damp. Which obviously happens a lot in the Lakes :-) . I really think that the owners or landlord should paint these with abrasive paint. It's a very nasty accident waiting to happen.
