With access to over 2 miles of York’s medieval city walls, a maze of snickleways and ginnels, world renowned attractions and a plethora of fabulous shops, cafés and restaurants only a short stroll from the front door, you won’t be able to wait to explore this wonderful city. York is fast gaining a reputation as one of the UK’s ‘foodie’ capitals and you can find some seriously great food and even better tipples brewed within the city. Why not take a break from walking around the city and see the view from one of the open top tour buses or sail slowly along the River Ouse on a cruise boat?
Whether your interest is in the large trains on display at the National Railway Museum, the history of the chocolate industry at York’s Chocolate Story, or of marauding Vikings and invading Romans, York has something for everyone. A little further out of the city you can find Castle Howard, one of the UK’s finest stately homes, the Yorkshire Air Museum, Nunnington Hall and Eden Camp.
