The stunning kitchen/dining room, with beams, tiled floor and dining and seating areas, is the perfect place for families to gather and enthuse over the magnificent walks and scenery. There is a separate lounge with oak flooring, cosy wood burner and a galleried landing with seating - perfect for sitting down with a good book and a glass of wine. To ensure plenty of comfort, the master bedroom has en-suite facilities and the owners provide wi-fi, logs for the wood burner and towels, in addition to many other amenities.

Situated alongside Coledale Beck, at the foot of Whinlatter Pass and in the heart of Braithwaite village, Beck Edge lies just 100 yards from the village shop, restaurant and pub. Some of the areas finest walks are available from the doorstep, including the Coledale Horseshoe, taking in Grisedale Pike and Causey Pike. Whinlatter Forest is a top destination for mountain bikers with beautiful forest trails for walkers and a visitor centre. Keswick, 2 miles, has a wealth of tourist attractions, restaurants, outdoor activities, shops, pubs and the beautiful Derwentwater.Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Lovely inside, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen.

Lovely inside, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. BUT - no outdoor space/seating, so not much good in the summer - one tiny parking space, and the cottage is right at the bottom of the Whinlatter Pass, so on quite a busy road. Nowhere outside to store bikes, etc - a cottage, with some quite modern looking furniture that didn't really match the feel of the place The instructions could have been much better. Couldn't find how to program the heating, had to use the advance or off switch on the boiler. Lots of the instructions were generic - talking about different coloured bins, for example, when there were only a couple of bins that didn;t really match the description, or with things like 'if supplied'. It doesn't take much effort to give instructions just for that cottage. We enjoyed the stay, but only chose it because it was a last minute change of booking (Scotland's change of rules meaning we couldn't take our holiday there).
