Apartment In Private Villa With Pool And Short Walk To Beach.

Just steps away from the swimming pool, this apartment offers ocean views, a private patio and the opportunity to have a vacation you will always remember. The unit has a rattan, queen-sized sleigh style bed, shower and kitchen. Enjoy eating inside, poolside or take a short walk to several restaurants down the street.
Air conditioning, ceiling fan and carribbean shuttered windows allows comfort in all seasons. Pool/beach towels are also provided.
The Palms at Carina Bay is a private villa and the apartment is located on the lower, pool level. There is a private entrance for our guests' convenience. The villa is just east of the Divi Resort and Casino which offers several restaurants, entertainment, even a putt-putt golf course. And the beach is only a 2-3 minute walk away!

Perfect 3 night stay

My wife and I enjoyed our time on STX. Emelyn and Jim were very nice people who were always willing to be helpful. Their apartment was perfect for us and provided all the amenities for our needs. Their property has a beautiful pool and wonderful ocean view. They're living the life we all wish we could have!

Hidden Gem in Turner Hole

We had such an amazing time in Turner Hole! It is as close to paradise as possible really. The studio apartment is private and leads right to the pool with views of the beach. Emelyn is an incredible host who knows the island like the back of her hand and has thought of a guests every need. (They fixed our flat tire in the driveway before we knew we had one!) Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Sweet little apartment on the East Side with Charming Hosts

This little pad was perfect for us. Tucked away and quiet for a great week of relaxing. The kitchen was equipped with everything and Em made it clear that if you needed anything, they loved to cook and would run it out. We didn’t miss anything. Plan to have a car to visit all the spectacular sites on the island. Great restaurants a couple miles over the hill to the north. Duggans (for lobster),Goat Whiskey Soup, and a fun pub called Castaways (bingo Wednesday and live music). The sunrise over the reef out front lined up just right during our stay. Easy stroll to the beach.

Wonderful trip and fabulous hostsw

We loved every day we spent in the Turner Hole region of St. Croix. Emelyn and Jim are stellar hosts, giving us plenty of independence, blended with super hospitality. All suggestions of places to visit and excursions were spot on. We also were treated to a tour or sections of St. Croix that we may have missed without our hosts' direction. The location in the East End region was wonderful--off the beaten, harried track, yet within easy striking distance of all of destinations. Centerline Rental Cars provided us with Jeep (one of the many great referrals by Emelyn) and the variety of dining and grocery shopping options allowed us the freedom to enjoy a grilled meal at home, or wonderful fresh meals about town. Thank you Emelyn and Jim!

Dated, dirty and buggy

While dated doesn't bother us..filth does! Especially for the 115 cleaning fee. The toilet bowl, sheets, and dishes seemed clean. But all surfaces (including the very damp floor), top of the toilet (lizard droppings/ trails), etc where very dirty. The greater issue was the lack of up keep to the 'windows' and mesh. The louvered wooden windows did not close completely and the screens did not fit properly and/or ripped. So inside on multiple occasions we found spiders, centipedes, lizards, mosquitoes, etc. Just could not relax when you are swatting or bug spraying. We had bought food so kept it all in plastic bags in the dirty frig. So since we could not find a short stay location with food prep, we slept(after 2 nights)in a clean nearby hotel and only came to cook our food. Avoid this property!

A great place to relax.

We had a great time staying with Jim and Emelyn. There is nothing like waking up to the beautiful ocean breeze and having coffee by the pool that overlooks the Caribbean. Jim was a fantastic host who was available if we needed him. The apartment was perfect for one person or a couple. Although the casino was nearby, we quickly got used to it and it was never a problem. We liked being on the east side of the Island. We couldn't have had a more relaxing stay. We highly recommend Jim and Emelyn's place.

Wake Up to the Ocean From Your Bed

Great little gem on St Croix. Wife and I were celebrating our 10yr anniversary and Jim and Em's apartment was perfect for our needs! We literally woke up every morning with a view of the ocean from our bed. The space itself is small, but that was fine for our needs. It's relaxing to end the day sitting by the pool, sipping a cocktail, and looking at the ocean. Highly recommend!

Downtime in St Croix

We had a wonderful time thanks to our thoughtful hosts Em & Jim. The location was ideal to get to a few of our favorite spots, Cramer Beach, Ziggy’s, Blue Water Terrace and Salt. Em & Jim went out of there way to accommodate us throughout our three week stay and even gave us a tour of the Island. We will miss the relaxing pool and beautiful view.

Outstanding location and hosts

The apartment is located in a great place --- across the street from a really nice, empty beach and about a 10-15 minute drive from some very nice restaurants. Christiansted is a short ride as are some other very nice beaches. The hosts, Em and Jim, were very welcoming and don't intrude on your space and time. We visited during the week of March 14-20 (we left a day early due to the Coronavirus issues at home) and the island wasn't very busy but the sites were closed due to the outbreak. Overall, we really enjoyed the island and would definitely return.

Unexpected Delight

What made this stay for us was the owners. They are warm, delightful people with kind open hearts. We awoke every morning to a beautiful view of the ocean from our bed. Because I had just had surgery, we spent most days siting by the pool and reading. The rental car place did not honor our reservation but Emelyn and Jim took us to get groceries and gave us a tour of thier island home. We’ll definitely return.

Amazing stay

I can not say enough good things about our stay with Em and Jim. They were nice enough to pick us up at the airport and take us to the grocery store on our way back to the condo. The condo was great and the location was awesome! You can see the ocean from the bed! The pool and deck area are beautiful and have a beautiful view. I don't know if I want to have a evening cocktail anywhere else after being there! Em and Jim gave up a full day of their time and took us on an amazing tour of the whole island. We saw things we would have never seen without them. I could go on and on about how amazing they are and how much fun they made our trip! They did everything they could to make us comfortable and make us feel like family. I would recommend this property to anyone I know! You will not be disappointed!

Cozy and Friendly

As long time vacationers to the island, we’ve stayed at many houses. This will be high on our list of “to return to 😎🌴” Jim & Em could not have made us feel more at home. Accommodations are comfy and easy for a couple to settle into. The chairs out by the pool overlooking the beautiful carribian waters are a spectacular place to enjoy morning coffee and relax. Perfect getaway for 2 on the east end

Emelyn, Jim and Jake were the best hosts at their charming apartment in their villa. The unit had everything needed for a quiet retreat five minutes from some of the most spectacular scenery and beaches on the island. They went out of their way to bring us to the local farmers markets and butchers for fresh and were always there to help. They have a little piece of paradise and we can’t wait to go back again soon. The unit fit our needs and provided us everything we needed.

This house in the perfect location on the South side of the island. Easy access to both the South Shore and north shore with many wonderful dining opportunities just a short drive away. My wife and I enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of palm trees rustling, the waves lapping on the beach down below and waking to a view of the sunrise every morning. Jim and Em were the best hosts. They were always able to guide us in the right direction for restaurants selection and island activities while we were there. Access can be a bit adventurous the first time do to the hurricane washing out the lower road but after a day of navigating the roads we became very comfortable and never gave it another thought. The house has a beautiful setting and is as they described. The unit provided everything we needed for our short stay from all the appliances to even a cooler and beach chairs to use.

February 2019 The best place to share our review is the beginning of our visit. We were welcomed at the airport by Emelyn where she drove us to our apt. on her own time. From that time our vacation on the island became a memory we will never forget. Both Jim and Emelyn spent much of their own time showing us the numerous key points of island living. This included but not limited to: shopping, open air markets, restaurants, beaches, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Because of their eagerness to show the island, it did not take long to feel comfortable at our vacation home. Our apartment was well maintained, clean and well suited for a couple. The grounds were also well maintained. Also our private patio was plenty adequate with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea from our patio and pool deck. Our stay with Jim and Emelyn lasted almost a month and neither one of us was ready to say goodbye to our new friends and island living. Thank you both for everything and we look forward to seeing you again. Chuck and Debbie.

As a child, I had the opportunity to live in Puerto Rico which has given me a great love for the Caribbean. We purchased our home with the intent to retire here on St. Croix. We are enjoying becoming a part of the local community and exploring the island. As a photographer, I am really in heaven!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this home the minute we saw it. The location offers tropical breezes, incredible ocean views and easy access to restaurants, beaches, watersports, markets, etc. We have spent the past few years making this house our island home.

What makes this property unique

Being able to walk to the beach in less than five minutes was a real bonus to us. Plus, there are numerous pristine beaches within a 5-10 minute drive!
