PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING (FOR PARKING SEE FAQS BELOW):
Our place is not for everyone and that's just fine. We're travelers too, and because of this, do our best to offer the type of apartment we like to stay in -low key, affordable, and part of a friendly, colorful community. The building is older, and the apartment has its quirks but it is clean, in a safe location, and a 3 minute walk from supermarkets, cafes, international restos and bars – all in the middle of a lively underground arts scene.

Travelers who LOVE this place are unpretentious, laid-back people with a youthful spirit, probably traveling on a budget, who love to explore a city on foot, and want to immerse themselves in local arts and culture, and don’t mind staying in a well-loved, groovy little semi-basement hideaway.

What makes our place worth it?
Hotels in downtown Montreal cost an average of $300 per night for a room. Sure, you’d probably get more amenities there, but you’d be staying in a tiny space with nowhere to cook, spending way too much on restaurants, and likely missing out on the very best parts of Montreal: the local scene. Also, the average hotel cleaning person spends 15 minutes cleaning a hotel room and bathroom after guests leave (yup, 15, yuck!!). We spent 2 hours scrubbing, washing and sanitizing the apartment before each guest arrives. It may look a bit worn, and the furniture and appliances are not new but it's clean, safe, bug-free and located in one of the coolest neighborhoods in town.

We know how difficult it can be to find a place to stay with your pet, and as animal lovers, we're happy to offer a fully-equipped comfortable home with a private patio, where you and your 4-legged family members can enjoy the city stress-free.

But, before you book, here are drawbacks to consider:
This is is a pet friendly travel spot so if you're allergic to cats and dogs it's NOT the place for you. Don't book, you won't like it here!!

The bathroom wall has a hole beside the toilet that is sealed with plastic, the sofas are a few years old and have some slight discolorations, some of the sheet sets are slightly worn.

FAQs
Are there any stairs?

The apartment is locate 5 steps below street level.

Can I bring my well-behaved pet?

Yes, pets are welcome! Please note that this is a pet-friendly apartment, I receive guests with dogs, and sometimes cats, fairly frequently. I always use covers on all the furniture and make sure to vacuum and treat the apartment with probiotic anti-dander sprays after those guests leave but if you are allergic to dander I suggest choosing another place. The downtown core (Ste Catherine/Place des Arts/ festival zone), Chinatown and Old Montreal are all accessible on the #55 bus just 4 blocks (2 mins walk) from the apartment. It takes approximately 7 minutes to get to Place des Arts by bus and 10 minutes to Old Montreal.

There is a BIXI (bike rental) station around the corner from the apartment. It costs $1.25 to rent a bike for 45 minutes, alternatively guest can purchase a 1 month pass for $20

Bonne localisation

Not a great deal for the price
I really didn’t expect what we got when going to Lea’s Place. First of all we were waiting outside for a bit when check in was at 2 pm on the site but then written down below 3 pm but she had said the key would be in the mailbox. Parking was not easy to find on the street. Once you figure out the signs you can go look on adjacent streets but it was a struggle in the heat. Great neighbourhood- I lived in montreal before and love the neighbourhood and Lea was very nice but the apartment was very smelly and dirty. Even the counter had spots and the floors- when I got out of the shower I wiped it and a bunch of dirt from the corner came off. No natural light in the apartment and the couch is completely stained. If you are going to charge that much get a cover that you can take off and bleach. I have a friend that runs one and bleaches everything every time. It was ok but I think for the price you might as well stay at a hotel with parking. I have a friend that runs an Airbnb nearby and her place is stunning and charges 90$ a night. We paid 171$ each for 2 of of for two nights. There’s also a deposit they take off when you reserve which is the cost of 2 nights 300$ and I’ve also never seen that. I have a friend that runs an vrbo as well and just has the card on file.

Charming and very convenient!
I very much enjoyed staying at Bea's cute little apartment. It centrally located in the Plateau area and not a far walk to the major streets of St. Laurent, St. Denis, Rue Rachael and Mont Royal. It is roughly a 10 minute walk to the Metro as well. Having the washer and dryer was a big plus!

It was a very pleasant stay
Pretty quiet neighborhood, clean and centrally located near allot of points of interest. The only complaint that I would have is the cat smell in the main hall leading to the apt. But all in all it was a great experience!
