Alnwick, with its famous castle used in the Harry Potter films, the Heritage Coast, peppered with castles and golden beaches, and York with its beautiful minster, can all be reached within an hour. Renowned as one of the finest historical and cultural cities in the UK, the city of Durham has a magnificent cathedral, castle and World Heritage Site, along with an array of medieval architecture, winding cobbled streets, unique shops, pubs and restaurants.
