Live is a Highwave, Dive it All Night Long! Great views, Kitchen, Pool/Sauna!
Sea Gypsy Unit 227 sits at the south end of our building where the currents of the famous D River collide with the high waves of the Pacific. We call this condo Life is a Highwave.
At 634 square feet, this condo features not one, but two separate sleeping areas. There's a queen bed in the master bedroom and in the oceanside suite is a top-of-the-line queen-sized sleeper sofa. This condo has a large, comfortable reclining chair in the living room as well as a rocking chair. A dining table rests at the oceanfront windows, where you can watch the beach below and the river to the south.
The D River is famous because it's the shortest river in the world. It is fun to wade in during the warmer months, and interesting to watch in the winter when salmon migrate up its shallow waters. The occasional bald eagle swoops in and snags one for a meal. The river and ocean change constantly from week to week and month to month across the sandy landscape.
The Sea Gypsy is right on the beach, just steps away from the sand. Walk 10 minutes north to some natural tide pools, where you can view starfish, hermit crabs and other surprises.
We have an indoor heated pool and sauna as well.

We were planning to stay only two nights but on the second we found out we weren’t gonna be able to go home because of the icy roads. They were extremely caring and understanding about our situation and let us book an extra night.

Yearly vacation
Overall we had a great stay. The room said it had a extra pull out bed, but it didn't. I informed the staff and they went and bought a brand new air mattress, which was awesome and very unexpected. The carpet had lots of stains and the fridge leaked a bit of water from the freezer, but overall it my family was comfortable.

great place
Great ocean views! I thought I would really miss the balcony or sliding glass door, but actually I enjoyed the big window with the dining table in front of it because it gets too cold for balconies a lot of times anyway. The fold out bed wasn't as comfortable as it was led onto be, I think if you're over 35 then it's a no. No spatula for cooking eggs, wish the kitchen utensils would have been better. Hot water sometimes an issue with the big building being fully booked. But none of those things kept us from enjoying the place, it is a great place overall!

Not our best stay
Upon checking in-the condo looked like it was cleaned in 10 min or less. Floors were dirty, carpets stained, the back bathroom toilet was clogged, stains all over the carpet, hair and dead bugs in the shower, dirty garbage cans and dirty kitchen. The fridge also leaked water all over every night we stayed. We checked in with 3 towels and 3 washcloths for 3 days, no dish towels or hand towels. Also noticed the volume doesnt work on the main cable tv! Messaged front desk for assistance and never heard back. We've stayed at sea gypsy probably 100 times-this unit was dissatisfying.

Worth the view
We experienced such beautiful sunsets!
The kitchen was properly equipped but no dishwasher.
I did not sleep in the bedroom because the window didn't have a screen (I sleep with the window open.) The window curtain kept blowing out the window.
I didn't report it to the property manager because how can they come up with a window screen in 24 hours. I noticed all the other rooms had window screens over the bedroom windows. The furniture was OK except for the wobbly dining room table. I'd stay in this complex again, just not in this room unless they fix these issues.

Can't beat the combination of the location, view, and the price. The Sea Gypsy is where we have stayed at the beach since I was a kid, and that's not going to change anytime soon. Cannot wait for our next trip back!
Friend and I went for the night and enjoyed our stay very much. Great view of the ocean and easy to get to.

I love the Sea Gypsy. It's right on the beach. The units are spacious and the generously equipped kitchen is so nice. It's been 25 years since I've been to Lincoln City. My family used to go to Lincoln City in October and we always stayed at the Sea Gypsy. It hasn't changed. It's still the best place to stay.I enjoyed watching the kite festival. My only suggestion is that you upgrade the toilet 🧻
The drop leaf table next to the window was unstable and could use some tightening up. When I visit Lincoln City again I will definitely stay at the Sea Gypsy.

Unit was Disappointing
We have been staying at the Sea Gypsy for over 10 years and at least a half a dozen different units. Unit 227 was the most disappointing of them all. The unit had carpet and the carpet was disgusting. Stains all over and if you walked on it barefoot it felt a bit crusty in some spots. There are two Teflon pans and one of them is complete garbage and should be trashed, the other in pretty bad shape also. Broken up Teflon causes cancer. There was no spatula to turn the food over either. First time I ever stayed at a condo with a kitchen and no spatula. Refrigerator was wobbly and the couch extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was the hardest thing I ever laid on!! My husband refused to sleep on it. Decor looked like it was from the Goodwill. No screens on the windows is dangerous. We will try a different unit next time. As for the trip itself, the weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed the carshow at the casino and various other activities. We love L.C.

Check-in went smoothly. Roku box on the TV was nice. Great to have stairs to the beach and a foot wash area.
Kitchen counter had a lot of crumbs on it and the kitchen floor was a little sticky.
Otherwise everything was great. We'll be back again!

Room Review
The room was not bad, it was in a great area. However, the fridge needs to be oiled or something, every time you open the fridge door it has a horrible squeak. The room needs some updating. The one chair in the living area that is peeling needs to be replaced. I sat in it and where the upholstery is peeling scratched my arm. I would suggest finding someone that know how to decorate to come in help you.

Always A Treat
This trip I had a daughter and granddaughters along for the stay - a Spring Break trip. It was a treat for everyone. The girls enjoyed beachtime while I enjoyed the view. It's a birdseye view from the second story window, and always fun to people watch. I'll be visiting again, for sure.

What a fantastic fun place.
We love the Sea Gypsy and have stayed there several times. We started staying when our son was ten and he is now 59. There are a few things we would like to tell you about. First we could not get the bedroom tv to turn on at all and the living room tv was designed for young people. Please don't forget some of your clients are old. We old people cannot run all those remoted especially when the directions say use this remote to turn on and this remote to surf and this mote etc. Well we could't find the motes the direction was talking about because none of the 4 were named as the direction said. We wish that there would be on remote that turned on local networks and the others can be used for the younger people. But we had a good time anyhow we played cribbage and other games when we were in for the night. But did miss tv. Thank you for the opertunity to vent.
Our stay was good until Fri morning before checkout there was no hot water for a shower

Good vacation
We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and the location was incredible. The only problem was with the tv. There were no directions on how to get to the cable channels from the Roku and no channel guide for the Roku live Tv.

Very clean and comfortable. Dining table needs to be replaced or repaired, it's about to fall apart, couldn't use it, had to eat at the kitchen counter which was inconvenient.

Can't beat the view
The Sea Gypsy has one of the best views of the ocean in all of Lincoln City. We give it a 5 star rating for the view. There were some problems with the condo and the building in general. We stayed in 227 Life is a Highwave. The listing advertised a large recliner in the living room, two massage chairs, and a twin roll away bed in the bedroom. We were counting on using the bed in the bedroom, in addition to the queen bed. When we arrived, we found that there wasn't a roll away bed, nor a recliner, and there was only one massage chair. The listing really should be changed to reflect the furnishings accurately.
There were some things that didn't work in the condo. The master bathroom toilet could only be flushed by holding the flush handle all the way down. The switch on one of the living room lights did not work, and there was a burned out bulb in one of the lamps.
The baseboards in the unit are in need of painting, and some of the curtains are missing hanging hooks, so the draperies sag and don't close properly. The kitchen faucet can't move, and it feels as though if you tried to move it, you would cause it to break.
There are three access pointes to the beach but only one is usable. I understand the King tides damaged two of the entry point steps. Those should be repaired ASAP. The only current access steps are so covered with sand, it's almost as if there are no steps. The railing leading down to the beach broke the first day we were there, and was never fixed in the entire week we stayed. These are just little things, and I don't mean to picky, but they really should be addressed.
The walls are rather thin, and we could hear the people above us, but that is to be expected with an older building.
I enjoyed the kitchen, as it was stocked with lots of cooking vessels. They had provided salt and pepper and some basic spices, and flour and sugar, and foil, and saran wrap.
There were lots of bars of soap, lotion and condition provided.
Some cleaning supplies would have been appreciated, and maybe a small vacuum, so I could clean up the sand that I'm sure we tracked in.
Check in was nice and easy.
If the items could be fixed in room 227, the rental could be a lot nicer.
I would consider booking again at the Sea Gypsy in the future but probably not 227.

Beautiful view
We have stayed here before! These rooms are amazing. Cant get a better view. The kitchen is always filled with whatever you need for cooking. This would have been a 5 star but the bed was so uncomfortable and honestly not big enough. Otherwise, great stay!
