128 Miller Street is situated in Gordons Bay, overlooking sunset beach with panoramic views over False Bay taking in Table Mountain, sunsets over the bay and the Helderberg mountains, all from the privacy of your deck and lounge. We are within 5 minutes walking distance of restaurants, the Blue Flag Bikini beach or a stroll to your closest swimming beach, just 50 m below the deck. The house is a perfect base to do day trips to the Cape Wine lands including the Elgin, Paarl, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Cape Town and Hermanus. Clarence drive along the coastline offers both spectacular views (see the whales between June & December) and another suite of beautiful swimming and surfing beaches.
The house is let as a whole and the top floor, which is level with the road, offers a large open-plan kitchen and living area, flowing out onto a deck with sea and mountain views. The living area features sliding doors with retractable solar blinds. These blinds cut out excessive heat in summer, without impeding the view, and retain s the house s north-facing warmth during winter, thus ensuring sustainable energy usage. There is a TV room on this level, linked to the open plan, fully equipped kitchen.
The accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms of which one is en-suite, a laundry all of which are on the second (lower) level. A solar geyser with electrical backup is used for the bathrooms and kitchen. In addition, there is a backup gas geyser which serves the main en-suite bathroom. There is also a separate guest toilet on the landing. We have an independent water source from mountain seepage water, piped throughout the house, and are thus now off the municipal water grid. This ensures that you will not run out of water during your stay with us.
As the house is on three levels, there are stairs and the deck is approximately 6m from the ground and thus not suitable for folk with walking disabilities and one should be extra careful with small children.
It is an ideal location for both those who wish to enjoy an active Cape holiday and those who simply want to relax and enjoy the proximity and sounds of the sea from the comfort of the sofa or deck.
