About this property
Canyon House - 200 Milles of Sunset!!
The Canyon House may be the most worthy home away from home as it is only 30 feet from the rim and it is 800 feet to the river. You may not here a fish jump but you can hear the rapids below. Descriptions about the home from previous guests is simply "comfortable". I have used a lot of numbers and distances to my descriptions because this land is so expansive it is often difficult to capture on camera, but you are willing to try. I hope you would share some of your pictures.
Our home offers all the features for you to relax, enjoy the quiet and solitude most of us long for. Spend some time in the hot tub gazing at Mt Jefferson, grill your steaks on the deck, relax inside watching the game or get cozy with your favorite book in one of the easy chairs. It’s all here for you to enjoy and I hope you will take advantage of what we have to offer. Golf, hiking, fishing, tennis, rock climbing, swimming, bike riding, bird watching, running or walking is just out your front door and sometimes the back door too! Explore and enjoy yourselves - You are worth it!
Your home base is a comfortable manufactured home attached to a large shop with my residence above shop. When you are here the Spa is reserved for you to enjoy, along with the patio and deck. I may be out watering the plants, or working on a building. Your privacy is my highest priority, yet sometimes it’s nice having a local give you directions to places like Skull Hollow, Foley Waters or Steelhead Falls.
The kitchen is stocked with all the basics from coffee to flour, olive oil, garlic, soy sauce and of course salt & pepper. All the basics are here to help you not bring your kitchen while you are on vacation. If you forgot something, please just ask and we can figure it out. Your home away from home awaits your arrival. My partner and I stayed here for a home base for a few days of climbing at Smith Rock. The house was great and the hot tub was perfect to relax after a hard day out. Would stay again!
Second time staying at the property and I loved it! The house is stocked well, clean and very out together. Amazing location on the canyon too. Would recommend to anyone!!
Beautiful scenic get away on Crooked River Ranch. Close to golf course with deck overlooking canyon and can watch sunset from the hot tub.House is large and well appointed with large bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and all amenities anyone could need. Very clean with full washer and dryer.I loved my stay here
The views from the home and patio are unbeatable - even in the midst of summer smoke haze, there was plenty to see, including lots of birds and some lizard visitors. The grill was nice to have available, and it was very convenient to be able to walk to a nearby hiking trail!
The views of the canyon and the mountains were amazing. It is a bit of a drive from town, but worth it. The house was well maintained, clean and comfortable. We had a great relaxing time and did some fun exploring as well.
The views are even more spectacular than the photos suggest. The place is clean and well-maintained. Jeff is an attentive, thoughtful host. Awesome hot tub!
On top of the incredible view, all the amenities you could think of were in the house. We used the grill both nights and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We did not want to leave!
The owner's photo of the deck over the Deschutes River canyon says it all. Peace, vast silence, soft warm winds carrying the scent of juniper and the volcanic earth itself. Two in the hottub watching the sun descend, a string of mountain peaks shaped against the dusk. Great hosts. They've done everything right and this place is a special piece of high desert magic.
So easy. The host, Jeff, is accessible and yet he gives you privacy. This is our second stay here and love the view and relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
This home is comfortable, had everything you need to relax. Whether you're inside sitting in a recliner looking out the windows or sitting in the hot tub watching the sun go down every night, the views are amazing. Me and my girls absolutely loved this home. We went all over the area on day trips, and came home early to relax and watch the sun go down. Beautiful and relaxing.
We loved the house, but would be helpful if people knew about the gravel road and also the red dirt road you have to travel to arrive at the destination, just in case they are driving a very nice car that has been washed prior to your arrival LOL.....
This was such a peaceful place for our stay. Everything was exactly as listed or better. Communication with owner was professional. Home was lovely and spacious. And the views were indescribable! Would stay again.
We had a great time staying at the Canyon House. Everything was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub and the sweeping views cannot be beat! We hope to be back soon.
Beautiful views. Easy check in and out. Host was easy to contact and gave suggestions on things to do. Location was private yet close to some great hikes. Loved Steelhead Falls. Loved grilling on the deck. It was just two of us but there is plenty of room to bring more family.
