About this property

Potato Barn (3 bedrooms sleeps 6)

Potato Barn is ideal for six people, with double bedrooms at each end of the barn, separated by the spacious living, dining area in the middle. A loft room with twin beds is accessed by a steep staircase (unsuitable for under eights) there is a wc/shower room at one end and a bathroom at the other. The layout is perfect for two parents, two grand parents and two children.
The living area is spacious with the "cooking island" at one end and the lounging space at the other. The TV is housed in a built in cupboard so as not to dominate the room. The woodburner makes the barn cosy and supplements the underfloor heating.
There are lawned gardens to the front and rear of the barn accessed by patio doors from the living room and one of the double bedrooms. The sunny gardens are spacious with plenty of room for children to play safely. There is also ample parking space.

Greenala and Potato Barn were converted by ourselves a builder and architect, They are of the highest standard. The accommodation is spacious and flexible, the two barns are attached but quite separate. They are often rented together by large families for special occasions. Both barns have a large living area with the kitchen and living room combined for "social cooking", the living rooms have wood burners (with plenty of logs provided) to relax by after a hard day on the beach. Underfloor heating and unlimited hot water are included. Barafundle Barns are located between the historic town of Pembroke and the picturesque harbour town of Tenby; a short distance from the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast with Barafundle Bay, Bosherstone lilly ponds and Freshwater East with it s public slipway just down the road. Barafundle Barns are an ideal base for walking, cycling, climbing, surfing or beach based holidays.

Great place to get away from it all.
This is a great barn in a very quiet location. Finding the barn (easier if it’s light) is a bit tricky, so follow the directions on the website rather than sat nav. It’s a well appointed place with two decent sized bedrooms. The bathrooms are nicely fitted out, although the main bathroom could do with a shower over when there’s a few of you requiring showers. The upstairs bedroom is accessed by a ladder type stair. It’s probably not suitable for young children. Our teenage children debated on who took the double bedroom. The kitchen area is generous & well laid out, with nice crockery supplied. It could do with a few pans with lids that fit to make home cooking easier. The oven and hob all work well. Under floor heating is great throughout. The living space is great with enough seating for a family. A few cushions would make it even better in terms of comfort. Tv is hidden away and was only used once all week. Log burner is great, practice is required to get it lit without smoking yourself out. This is probably because the stove pipe exits the back and not out of the top (better if you have small children so they don’t burn hands, a fire guard is available). Basically get the kindling burning well with the door shut before loading more logs. Lots of nice linen and towels, so no need to load even more into the car. Lovely owners who provided fresh flowers and Welsh cakes on arrival. It’s on our favourite list now.
