Situated beside a wooded glade at the edge of the small peaceful village of Stackpole, Pembrokeshire, Leyland House is a comfortable, stylishly furnished and decorated cottage. The lounge is cosy and welcoming and benefits from a log burner along with two 2-seater sofas and a smart TV. There are wooden floorboards throughout with a separate dining room (dining table seats 8) and a well equipped, modern kitchen (hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher). There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage is tastefully decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. There is a sheltered, decked courtyard for al fresco dining & a large detached garden which is reached via a private footpath. The cottage sleeps 4 & accommodates up to 2 dogs.

Stackpole village has an award winning foodie pub (The Stackpole Inn) with both bar, restaurant & beer garden. Dogs are welcomed in the bar and beer garden. The pub is approximately a three minute walk from the cottage.

The Stackpole Estate has 2000 acres (N.T.) of outstanding natural beauty, part SSSI and part National Nature Reserve & is a spectacular landscape and coastline rich in wildlife (otters, wildfowl, cliff nesting seabirds) with footpaths linking lakes, woods, cliffs, sand dunes and limestone grassland. The cottage is within 1 mile of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, Stackpole Quay, Barafundle Bay and Bosherston Lily Ponds. All can be reached on foot from the front door via paths through fields and woodland. A short drive takes in the beaches at Broadhaven South & the surfer's paradise at Freshwater West as well as local them parks Heatherton, Manor Farm and Folly Farm.

Beautiful location

The cottage was ideally situated by stackpole court and the numerous walks around the estate and accessible to the Pembrokeshire Costal paths. The cottage was very lovely and had loads of things to keep you entertained when the weather was bad. The food and service at the Stackpole Inn was as excellent. Would definitely look at staying there again.

Great location and a Nice Dog Friendly Cottage

A really nice location for a great relaxing holiday on the edge of the National Trust Stackpole estate. The cottage is perfect for those with or without a pet and very peaceful. The garden is separate from the house (1 minute walk). I would recommend this property.

Rural location

The property was a bit difficult to find, but with the friendliness of the Staff at the Stackpole Inn , we found it , the property was nice and cosy, could do with fire gloves has the log burner gets quite hot, there was plenty of every thing you need in the cottage.

A warm comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings.

We enjoyed our stay at Leyland House. The cottage was well equipped and we found everything we needed easily, even dishes for our dog. It was lovely to be able to walk to beautiful beaches, woodlands, lily ponds, cafe and pub straight from the door. Stackpole is a lovely peaceful village within easy reach of interesting places to visit.

Ideal spot for a cosy January retreat

Loved the cottage which is comfortable and warm & gets really toastie when log burner is lit. Situation is perfect for “from the doorstep” walks: across fields on good (though muddy in January) paths to stunning beaches & the Pembrokeshire Coatal Path, or along the many lovely walks within the Stackpole Estate (National Trust). Slightly further afield & by car is the charming town of Pembroke. We also loved Tenby, Laugharne (Dylan Thomas’s boathouse) & Picton Castle. Slightly disappointing, though perfectly understandable, was the fact that several of the places recommended to eat were closed for their owners to take a holiday & many of the attractions closed really early meaning we just missed The Boathouse & Pembroke Castle on our chosen visiting days (the websites tended to give later closing times than operated the week we were there)! Full use was made of the well-equipped kitchen & lovely table & glassware! We returned well-rested and fit.

Very comfortable cottage with great walks from the door and an excellent pub nearby

Our family spent a week here off-season, in autumn. The cottage was warm, comfortable, and very well appointed. The friendly owners dealt with our booking efficiently and answered our queries promptly. The caretaker who lives next door was also friendly and helpful while respecting our privacy. The cottage is perfectly situated for walks around the Stackpole Estate, and to nearby beautiful Barafundle Bay. The excellent Stackpole Inn is just a few minutes walk into the village. An ideal base for a holiday in this beautiful area. Highly recommended.

Perfect House in Perfect Location!

This is the 4th time we've stayed in this cottage and it's perfect for us. Great pub in the village of Stackpole and walking distance to Barafundle Bay beach over the headland, what more could you ask for! The cottage has everything you need and is spotlessly clean. Some may not like the bathroom downstairs but for holidays it's fine. Lots to do in this area and great that we can take the dog (she loved it too!). Thank you for letting us stay again.

The most perfect place - made us smile!

We are so very glad we chose this beautiful cottage to stay in! The perfect peaceful location looking out over hedgerows brimming with birds an on to Woodland and fields. The cottage is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful art and finishing touches everywhere. Loved the big dresser in the dining room. Peter next door acts as caretaker and he is DELIGHTFUL! So so helpful! Gave us some wonderful walking directions and letting us know we had to duck under the first electric fence and could then unhook the rest! An easy walk down to stunning Barafundle Bay. We also easily joined the 6 mile Bosherston Wildlife Circuit! Be sure to look for the Slow Pig Wagon. Stackpole is s pretty little village and we ate at the fab pub three times! We did heaps of stunning walks, never straying that far by car. Longest trip was an amazing boat over to Skomer! Puffins galore! Also did Carew Castle, Manorbier (beautiful tea room too!), Tenby, Saundersfoot - and beautiful walks at Angle and at Lawrenny - both of which have sister cafes which are AMAZING!!!! The perfect sunny week!!! Thank you Phillips!!

Lovely property. Well equipped. Great walks directly from the door.

We had a great week. Stackpole area is glorious, the woods were full of spring flowers, there was lots of wildlife to see, garden and grounds on Stackpole Estate lovely and beaches are absolutely fantastic. We didn't use car at all during our stay as there was plenty of walking, as well as relaxing on the beach without it.
