Steps away from the beach, with extraordinary ocean views, On the Rocks at Haystack is the best home away from home in the heart of Cannon Beach. With Haystack Rock marine and nature preserve and The Needles, ranked in the top 100 must see places by National Geographic, just outside the window, our home’s stunning backdrop marries perfectly with its beautiful, modern interior.

All rooms face the ocean for spectacular daytime and sunset views. The gourmet kitchen features new top of the line appliances including a 6 burner professional grade stove and griddle plus a pantry with the basics and complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate. There's even a separate two drawer under counter refrigerator for all your cold beverage needs.

Private and social areas are thoughtfully placed throughout the home so up to 8 guests can enjoy each others company or spend time on their own. The fireplace, library, tv's, and games complete the warm and inviting living spaces.

All four bedrooms are private sanctuaries with comfortable beds that will sleep 8 and the four full spa-like bathrooms include complimentary toiletries.

Two outdoor decks offer the best in indoor/outdoor living and the perfect place to watch the constantly changing ocean, beach goers and bald eagles in their search for puffins on The Rock. The lower deck features a 4 person hot tub, sofa, chairs and firepit and the upper deck is complete with comfy chairs and a fire pit. There are also beach towels and four adult size bicycles available for your use.

Located on a quiet, oceanfront street with two of the 44 public beach access points, it's a five minute walk to Haystack Rock and 8 minute walk to the nearest restaurants. Whether you want to explore the tide pools, take a walk or bike ride on the beach, stroll along the shops and galleries or do a coastline hike at nearby Ecola Park, On the Rocks is the perfect place to stay and explore all the area has to offer. Please note that our home is located on the downhill side of Haystack Hill, about 50 feet above the shore and Haystack Rock, with steps and a short steep driveway down from the street to the front door and main level. Sorry, no pets.

This house is everything as listed and more. Couldn't be a more perfect location, one house back from the beach with a stunning view and walkable to town. It is clean, and comfortable and includes anything you may need for your stay.

Perfection!

We have stayed at many VRBO properties and have to say this one was absolutely perfect! We enjoyed the deck in the morning and evening looking out over the water. The house was very well appointed with everything you need. We do not typically go back to places but we all agree that we will definitely be back here!

family time at the beach

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We were a group of five adults-(parents and adult kids). On the Rocks is a very well appointed home with an amazing view of Haystack rock. Beach access is nearby. We walked to Cannon Beach from the home and back again. Communication was easy and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Views were stunning.

Another Fantastic Stay

From the moment you step inside and see the breathtaking view of Haystack Rock, a sense of tranquility and serenity takes over. The home is impeccably clean and meticulously maintained and has a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, which we love to cook in. The decks offer multiple spots to relax, read, and soak in the beautiful surroundings. At night, the soothing sounds of crashing waves create a peaceful atmosphere for sleep. Gorgeous House

Weather was perfect! You don’t even need to leave the house to experience the best part of Cannon Beach. Haystack Rock is literally out front. Best location to people watch. Within walking distance to MO’s, Wayfare and Pelican Brewery among other places. House is even better than pictures. Very comfortable. Owner was great and very responsibe. Plan to stay again!

Family Stay for 60th Birthday

This was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed! We were celebrating my mom's 60th birthday and it this home exceeded expectations. It was very clean and the location was excellent. We had the best time enjoying the spectacular view on the deck (we even got to see a pod of orcas from the deck!), using the hot tub, and cooking in the gorgeous kitchen. Easy access to the beach and we walked to get coffee and pastries a few times at Sleepy Monk. What a perfect spot for a vacation- we're already looking at dates for next year!

REALLY Nice Property in Cannon Beach

We’ve stayed at a couple dozen vacation rental homes over the last 10 years or so. This is (by far) the best decorated/equipped/stocked house we’ve rented. The owners have really gone the extra mile to ensure you feel welcome and relaxed. The house was perfect for our family week at the beach (6 adults, 1 three year old). The beach views on the deck(s) are amazing and both decks have gas fire pits and patio furniture. A short trek to the beach and haystack rock. We really enjoyed our stay and will be coming back.

Incredible View and Home

We were there for a week and everything was top notch. The home had everything we could have wanted and more. We enjoyed most of our meals cooking in the chef's kitchen. The View was amazing! You can see the rocks and the beach out of the windows and decks and it seemed like you could just reach out and touch them. We were lucky to have great weather and we spent alot of time outside on the decks. We all left feeling peaceful and rejuvinated.

Perfect Beach Getaway

This place had everything you could hope for in a beach vacation. House was immaculate and beautifully decorated with every amenity you could hope for. Kitchen was fully stocked, including every kind of coffee maker you could want. Beds and linens super comfortable. 3 of the bdrms include the stunning view. Easy Walking distance to town and beach. But the best part is the view!! Pictures do not do it justice!

Astounding house in an astounding location

The two decks of this extravagant house give bird's-eye views (literally) of Haystack Rock, and in a short walk you're on the sand exploring the tide pools, counting sea stars. Our 7-yr-old granddaughter, who lives in a land-locked state, couldn't get enough of running into the surf -- which is so safe there. The kitchen is as well equipped as we've ever encountered, the beds and pillows are perfect, the grill and fire pits and outdoor furniture work so well. What a great experience!

Perfect location, great property

Beautiful, comfortable home was perfect for a group of adult friends. We loved the large, well-stocked kitchen, the spacious en-suite bathrooms, the hot tub, and of course the location and view. Our stay coincided with an ice storm and the host was extremely helpful, communicative, and flexible throughout. One thing to note- host's description of the short, steep driveway into garage was accurate. We found that one of our vehicles with low ground clearance (a minivan) would not fit into the garage without scraping bottom.

The house is beautifully appointed and well-equipped. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the bathrooms were incredibly spacious. The view overlooking Haystack Rock and the "Needles," was spectacular. The ONLY issue we had was with the refrigerator, the doors of which somehow seemed "askew," such that the freezer door wouldn't stay securely closed. We contacted your local assistance line immediately, and someone promptly came and examined the freezer door. He removed the metal insert altogether and placed it in the garage, indicating that he would contact you and let you know of the problem. As a result, we heard a very faint "ping" throughout our stay, which appeared to be from the refrigerator. However, we were able to close both the upper and freezer doors sufficiently that none of the food was adversely impacted. Also, if you host "seniors" in the future, we might suggest installing grab bars in the showers for added safety. As it was, the bathrooms were safe, clean and well-stocked. We had a lovely time, and truly appreciate staying in your beautiful home.
