About this property
Thorngrove Manor House
The rate and listing is indicative of The Observatory Suite with a circular spa in a tower $1699.00per night Accommodation listing is for the Observatory at Thorngrove Manor.
Thorngrove Manor has been honoured with 2 Michelin Keys, a prestigious new global accommodation award from the Michelin Guide. Thorngrove Manor was also named as an Editor’s pick in the Oceania region. “Inspectors visit anonymously, pay their way, and judge the entirety of the guest experience- from first impressions to the smallest touches.”
Receiving the 2 MICHELIN Keys places Thorngrove Manor among a select group of outstanding and exceptional properties, recognised for their distinctive character, exceptional service, and dedication to creating an extraordinary guest experience. Michelin keys for accommodation are the equivalent of Michelin stars for restaurants.
Thorngrove accepts one guest couple at any one time-you will not see any other guest. Other accommodation options are available at other rates on request. Accommodation is not suited for those unable to climb stairs with ease. The iconic 5 star rated Thorngrove Manor had been a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World for 28 years ensuring an unparalleled commitment to excellence. 2024, brings a new direction celebrating our own iconic brand. Images are of ALL manor room options. Please enquire for specific Observatory Suite information. The irreplicable Thorngrove Manor is a fusion of architectural art, boutique accommodation and the decorative and fine arts. Uncompromising authenticity highlights the magnificent architecture. Privacy is paramount and specifically designed for individual couples. In 1984 the Thorngrove journey began; to create a unique, artistic and signature boutique hotel providing inspired and meaningful experiences for guests. Eschewing the corporate culture pre-occupied with budget results, glittery excess or formulated success, it was to be an enduring and evolving hotel, profoundly representational of its unique regional landscape, history, amenity, climate and community. Traditionally boutique/lodge hotels have predictable cultural lines of service and a commonality of experience, impersonal and institutional corridors, tedious check-in, noise from adjoining rooms, and customary herding to pre dinner drinks and strict dinner regimes.
With an inherent consciousness to differentiate, Thorngrove’ architectural uniqueness provides a dynamic and exquisitely crafted environment in which guests respond, providing a journey beyond the destination. Guest rooms are creative, flexible, evolving and individual, inspired by the architectural tradition of the region. Interiors are opulent, layered and enveloping. It is a unique multi-towered hotel with an abundance of gables, spires and detailing, creating a mood of escapist fantasy and a timeless sense of history. The pointed arches and turrets, decorative plasterwork and elaborate portico entrances of the architecture, provide romantic and whimsical appeal designed to stimulate the senses and provide interactive architectural encounters. The artistic interior reflects rare craftsmanship, featuring select antique pieces, complemented by bespoke artisan-crafted furniture and modern amenities. Every detail is crafted to honour the vision, inspiring and captivating each guest. All guest areas are highly individual with an atmosphere of relaxed informality. Suites are distinguished by their individual character, inspired by tradition, rusticity and elegant timelessness, to rooms of theatrical inspired artistry; all decorated with the utmost attention to detail and with a uniquely Australian contemporary twist. Each suite has been decorated individually to complement the architectural diversity. Suits are resplendent works of art, beauty and symmetry. To highlight the organic nature of the building in selected places the internal structure is presented externally, with rooms open to the structure above.
Privacy is absolute; you will never see other guests. Strictly one couple at any one time. Safety and security is paramount with gates open only for arrival and departure of guests. A surrounding hedge delineates Thorngrove from the outside world, allowing guests to explore and discover and return.
