About Mr Maurice Cooper
A collection of teapots begun in 1974, when Ronald Hooper, a previous owner of my business 'Bygone Beautys' came across a special teapot. In 1992, we joined forces to create 'Bygone Beautys' and continued from there to grow the collection. This Treasured Teapot Museum reflects and preserves the diversity of Australian tea-drinking culture. We have now become the largest private teapot collection in the world and have a reputation in the Blue Mountains. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Bygone Beautys have been awarded the Hall of Fame award for both people’s choice as well as community contribution on behalf of CR Daniel Myles (Mayor of Blue Mountains City Council), Dave Garner (President, BIZNET) and Randall Walker (Chair, BMLOT).
Mr Maurice Cooper purchased this Cottage in 1994
Why Mr Maurice Cooper chose Bullaburra
This property is quiet and luxurious and provides the guest with an incredible experience of the Blue Mountains National Park.
What makes this Cottage unique
This Blue Mountains cottage is approximately 90 kilometers from Sydney. Bronte Cottage is set in 1 1/2 acres of beautiful gardens and bush land, conveniently located for bush-walking, close to all Blue Mountains scenic attractions. The cottage also has access via a short walkway to the Common (4 acres of established gardens and two acres of easily accessed bush land). Shared by four other cottages, within the Common is a duck pond with koi carp and a full size tennis court (rackets are available within the cottage).

I booked this place on behalf of the company i work for and the guys that stayed there were very happy with the place. They would be happy to return if another project starts in the area. Thank you for having the Martinus Rail Team staying at your place!
Perfect stay at Bronte Cottage! 5 stars!
Thanks, Maurice, for another splendid stay at Bronte Cottage. The place is very easy to find and close to lots of Blue Mountains activities. A gorgeous open fire as well as an excellent heating system. We were so warm and cosy for our entire stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need to cook for your troops! The beds are very comfortable with electric blankets which was a nice bonus. There was plenty of firewood and the gardens were simply stunning. Such a peaceful little getaway. This was our second time here and it won't be our last! Thanks again Maurice for being a wonderful host.
Many thanks for taking the time and effort to review our property. It was great you enjoyed another stay and we look forward to your return..
I don’t like writing a poor review, but I would not have booked this place if I was more aware of what it was really like. For the price we paid, similar to local resort prices, I did not expect to find it dusty. Everywhere. There was a strange smell in the place. The heating was on, but continued to turn itself off throughout the night. There was not enough timber to keep the fire going. The shower was covered in mould. The was no hot water in the morning. There were used sample bottles in the bathroom. The bed was so uncomfortable ( felt like it was made in the 1950s), with a depression in the middle of it, that we both sank into, and no topper to cover the electric blanket wires. There is a stained rule book purporting the owners pride in their cleanliness. The most important information in the book is the fee you will be charged if you don’t take your rubbish out, clean and leave the place exactly as you found it (which isn’t hard). Your dog must be on a lead in the outdoor area. I’m sorry to write such a poor review.
Naturally I am sorry to read such a review especially as we maintain many at 5 star. This booking was for one night however during this period although we have a 24 hour line for contact the guest did not contact us. If I was residing at a place where this number of incidents occurred I would surely have used that service. The number is provided in the arrival details and features prominently in the guest directory always double checked to be on the coffee table.
The central heating is guest controlled and if it went out intermittently overnight it may well have been it was set at 30 degrees [It was a cold night] whereby it overheats and simply turns itself off for safety reasons and recommences when the motor has cooled sufficiently. The desired temperature is 22 degrees [local resort defined temperature]. This is recommended in the directory. Our company for 28 years has given all amenities provided & left by a guest to charity to missions... The changeover system allows for all fresh ones to be with the new linen.
There is always an abundance of timber located in a tin trunk outside the laundry door. There is also a reasonable amount left beside the fire. I would ask reviewers to read other reviews on this property. I have checked the shower myself earlier today and we are very particular about cleanliness there is no build up of mould and we cannot explain if there was why future guests have not complained. There have been 24 guests stay since 30/6.
The mattress I leave to other reviews .
Wonderful Winter Stay
We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Maurice's Cottage. The morning sun pouring in through the glass windows was divine, underfloor heating kept us warm, the stars at night were incredible. A delightful country stay with well equipped kitchen, fireplace and comfortable beds. Plenty of garden for our dogs to explore, Lovely!

Beautiful and cosy.
We loved our stay at the cottage. The outside is gorgeous with autumn leaves. The house had everything needed for our stay.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to review Bronte. Autumn is my favorite time for all the leaves and certainly there are plenty at Bronte.
