Yallingup is at the northern entry to the Margaret River wine region, known for its beautifully presented vineyards and award winning wines. Many vineyards have welcoming tasting areas and popular restaurants enjoyed for their top-quality food and friendly service. At busier times of the year it is essential to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
The galleries of the region are many and diverse, displaying many types of Australian art and craft, ranging from a wonderful selection of paintings and sculpture, to jewelry, textiles, glassware and beautifully crafted fine furniture, made using local timbers.
Ther are also many activities for families to savour. There is horse riding, zip lining, catering for most age groups, a maze, a small water park (in warmer months), Simmo’s Icecream, a berry farm and local breweries, most of which have dining facilities and welcome children.
About Jenny Kay
We are a now retired veterinarian and teacher. We still find it hard to believe that twenty years ago we were able to purchase a block at beautiful Yallingup and commence to have this house built. The idea we had was to provide a home which would allow us and others to enjoy holidays with extended family or groups of friends. We couldn’t have been happier with the result. The memories we’ve made staying at the property with friends and being able to share time with our entire family, including our two married children, with partners and our five cherished grandchildren. We have even been able to include Great Grandma, which was precious for everyone. With six bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus an extra shower area, the house provides enough spaces to allow guests to be with others or take time out if so wished. We never grow tired of the 180 degree views that greet us each morning. The ocean is constantly changing, as is the tide line on the beach, so we’re never quite sure what we’ll see each time we arrive. In the Spring, distant whales can be spotted by the keen watcher, as they make their return journey to Antarctic waters the warm northern waters where they travel to have their new young in the winter months.
Jenny Kay purchased this House in 1999
Why Jenny Kay chose Yallingup
There are only 160 building parcels on the Yallingup hill. The surrounding area is national forest. When this one became available, we were delighted
