About this property

Wine Country Villa Guest House

If it's seclusion, quiet, privacy and comfort you desire, join us here on 45 acres of oak savannah. Star gazing is a favorite evening pursuit. Beautiful home with equally beautiful grounds. Hiking trails, birds singing, trees for breezes and a comfy cozy space for relaxing and sleeping. There is a labyrinth, prayer wheels and a bocce ball court - just waiting for you to use. Isolated yet an upscale neighborhood nearby..
Please note, this home does not have high speed internet. Upload and download speeds are very slow, so streaming is impossible. If you need the use of the internet for work or studies - this will not meet your needs.
COVID ALERT: I maintain a clean, sanitized environment and an additional measure I have taken is to schedule home stays 24 hours apart. That means no one has rented the space in 24 hours prior to your stay. Also, there has been no one in the space except for cleaning in 12 hours before your stay.
Your space in the wine country is a 400 sq. ft studio apartment above a separate garage in very rural Eugene. Some have likened it to an Italian Villa. Private staired outside entrance, 1 queen bedroom, 1 queen sofa bed, full size refrig, "box" stove & oven, 1 bathrm. There is a small woodstove for extra heat in the winter, wood provided for you. Views of the valley from private south facing deck. Bistro table for outside dining and 4 comfy chairs for relaxing. Quiet, dark star-filled skies in virtual quiet.
The living space is one large room with kitchen, dining and relaxation area, also where the sofa bed is located. There is a separate bedroom where the bathroom is located. Large closet space as well.
Water is from our well and is very tasty. Fresh eggs available from our organic chickens in the late Spring and Summer.
Just 1.5 miles down the road are two wineries - Silvan Ridge & Sweet Cheeks. A few miles further is the acclaimed King Estates. It's about a 20 minute drive to almost anywhere in Eugene. We can arrange and recommend dining locations for you.
If it's quiet you are seeking, you will find it here - a great place to unplug. You may just find yourself sleeping, relaxing, walking, reading, and never missing the outside world!

Awesome place for us
We arrived late and Bev was so very helpful. She even offered to help us carry in our stuff! She brought up wood and had the wood burner all ready for us on our second night. We really loved it here and look forward to more stays! Bev is definitely a Super Host!

Beautiful inside and out
Everything about our stay was lovely. The unit is wonderfully designed and appointed with everything you need, including, thoughtfully, yogurt, bagels, fruit, and fresh eggs to have with your morning coffee. The host was very responsive; we texted her a couple of times and got immediate responses. The location is a 22 minute drive from town (on good roads without traffic). You look out onto oak trees and moonlight. We’ll be back.

About the host

Host profile image
We own a small horticultural brokerage specializing in bulbs for flowering. We are able to work from our home when not travelling for purchase or sales of the bulbs. Bev is a retired holistic nurse. We love all forms of life and provide a home for 1 dog, 1cats and, several chickens. If they are laying, we can provide you with fresh eggs at no extra cost!

Why they chose this property

After several years of searching for a relatively large piece of southern facing property, we stumbled on their dream spot. Mike had a long-term dream of building a Timberframe (aka post and beam) home. Due to land use laws, a residence had to be built rather quickly, so we decided to build the cottage as our temporary home. We completed the apt. and lived there for 5 years before completing that dream home adjacent to the apt.

What makes this property unique

What makes Redfeather special is its oak savannah terrain. We are currently returning the land to its former state, as in, before logging and fir trees. As a result, many plant species are returning. The property is also home to numerous critters including bear, cougar, rabbits, bobcats, coyote, skunks and more. We always feel safe here and in our seclusion, we find peace.
