Wehad a wonderful stay. The house has every amenity you could imagine! The host Phil was very communicative and helpful, The layout and design of the house was perfect for our group.I would definitely stay there again..,and again...and again!
Everything was perfect and as nice as I hoped it would be. We attended a wedding in nearby Rupert. Our family came from CA and TX, drove in from Albany Int. Airport. Spectacular in every way.
Comfortable and great location!!! House is so well stocked and fun for a family. Made for a great wedding weekend.

wonderful, relaxing stay
We had a great time staying here- the house is beautiful and the grounds even more so. Our one regret is that we were only here for the weekend and not for longer! Phil was very responsive and helpful, offering information about the house and the area, and was a great host.

GREAT! !
Our family of 7 had a Great Time! Beautiful and modern home with all you could ask for. The homeowners went above and beyond to extend amazing hospitality and we will certainly return again!
The Nest at Birch Quarry was a perfect getaway. We were three couples in the area to attend a wedding. We were so pleased with the property. It is beautifully decorated with lots of extras to make you feel at home: games, throw blankets, reading material, a well stocked pantry, great seating. Choose. the Nest when you are in the Manchester/Dorset area. You won't be disappointed.
Had a great weekend in Vermont. Was traveling with a larger group to attend a wedding, and the Nest was a perfect way to keep us all together.
Had a nice fire at the fire pit, and memorable swim at the old marble quarry park around the corner.
Excellent spot.

We recenty spent a week at Phil’s house in Dorset and totally loved it.
The location of the house is perfect - 5 min away from all the restaurants in Manchester yet it is very private and quiet. The house itself is very modern and we loved the different art pieces. The pellet stove is great and makes the family room feel very cousy. Phil was super friendly and welcoming. We are definately coming back.
This house is extremely well appointed, and located very closely to Manchester. We had a wonderful stay. Phil, the owner, was extremely helpful from before our trip until after. He gave us recommendations on where to visit/eat, accommodated our check-in time, was available for questions during our stay, and even contacted me after our stay to inform us we left something behind and he volunteered to ship it to us. He is very kind. I would highly recommend this property, and hope to be back myself again in the future.
This was our second time staying at Phil and Gwynn’s and it was just as lovely as the first. We love to cook and entertain and everything you could possibly need is there. The addition of a/c in the bedrooms was fantastic on the muggy nights but when it isn’t too hot the house has a lovely cross breeze. Phil was available when we had a question and checked in with us upon arrival. We will definitely return!

Comfortable, well located and appointed property
This is the second time we've rented this property for the Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show. It is extremely convenient to both the show and the town amenities. The house is well appointed and decorated. It feels like a primary residence rather than a vacation home. Phil is very accessible if there was a problem (we haven't had any) and keeps in contact without being intrusive. We'll be renting again next summer!
This is the most well-appointed rental we have ever stayed at. Everything you could possibly need (or forgot to pack) in the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, etc. Also very updated/modern in Dorset, where many rentals are dated. Very cozy. The pellet stove keeps the living area warm 24/7. We didn't use the outdoor areas, but the fire pit and pond areas must be great in the warmer weather. Phil was very welcoming and communicative during our stay.
Our property was absolutely terrific! And it was just as described on the site and BEAUTIFULLY decorated! And like old times! All linens bedding bath towels! All included in our stay! PLUS tons of extras! Coffee, spices, paper products, tons of dishes silverware and glassware! And all beautifully arranged and labeled for easy to put away dishwashings! Just a PERFECT home away from home! Thank you SO MUCH to Phil and Gwenn!

The house is well located in between Manchester and Dorset. Starting on the outside, the property was fabulous, with lots of outdoor space for dining and relaxing, including nice extra touches such as citronella candles and a fire pit. The inside was also great. The kitchen was particularly well equipped with far more than you will likely need. The house was clean and the furnishings were up to date and lovely. We especially enjoyed the large and super comfortable couch in the living room And to add to the compliments, the owner was very responsive to our questions about things to do (such as where to run without hills). We highly recommend this house.

Snowbound: A renters delight
One of the best things about winter is a ski weekend in Vermont. It has become a yearly thing and after renting a few different style houses in different parts of VT Snowbound tops the list. The pictures don't give justice to the charm and comfotableness of the house. The kitchen is amazing and organized that cooking and preparing meals was actually fun. On top of it all, Phil was a great person to rent from. The process was very easy, and more importantly his kindness and helpful tips on everything from the mountains to restaurant suggestions were much appreciated.

Comfortable, well maintained, and tranquil
We stayed at this lovely house while showing our horses at the Vermont Summer Festival nearby. It is an extremely well equipped, nicely decorated house with clear instructions on how to use all the amenities. They clearly use this as a family home. It is very close to Manchester yet set back in the woods so it has the feel of a house all out in the country. We enjoyed dinners on the deck which was very peaceful. As people who go to horse shows all summer long and stay in rental houses, we found this one to be a nice haven to come back to after a long day. Phil was very responsive to any questions we had and he also has a local contact in case there are any problems of which we did not have any. We look forward to being able to rent this property again when we are back next summer.
My husband and I have absolutely loved our time in VT and our stay at Phil's house in Dorset. The house was exactly as advertised, if not better. The property is beautiful, lots of space and areas outside to relax and enjoy (hammock, deck, fire pit, etc.) -- all of which are inviting and well-kept. The house itself was perfect - feels fresh, very clean, updated, warm and cozy decor...and is COMPLETELY equipped with everything you could want during your stay. We cooked most nights, made lots of use of the kitchen and grill, and having stayed at lots of other rentals were very impressed how well stocked the entire house was and how everything was in clean and perfect -- if not new -- condition. Phil was an AWESOME host as well -- gives you a comprehensive guide to the house and area for your arrival, and is super-responsive and helpful while you're here, was just a pleasure to work with. And in terms of the area, you are centrally located between Manchester and Dorset with tons of local restaurants, shops, amenities (grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.) within a ~5-10 minute drive. Also loved the farm stand right on our street; great, fresh and local produce right outside your door. Can't wait to return, we loved it here!
- Lately, I always comment on VRBO photos of the property. In this case the house is better than the photos - which is exactly how we like it!
- Great house and surrounding property. The design of the house is interesting. Great outdoor spaces to use primarily not during winter [we were skiing all day anyway] - fire pit, pond, patio. It was difficult for us to spend the time outdoors as it was too cold. But, it is obvious that one can have some good times outdoors.
- The house. Inside it works/comes together very well. Great kitchen. Impressive dining room area with that wall of windows. Pellet stove worked very interestingly [we've never seen pellet stove before]. All beds were comfortable - mattresses, linens, pillows of high quality.
- The communication with owner (Phil) was great.
- This is not a shell of a property where owners do not live or bought it just for rental purposes. This is a well designed property where you know the owners not only spend a lot of time taking care of it but also invested some serious money.
- Love the wine glasses. (Was afraid to use red wine glasses. I usually break one or two - not this time). Very often owners hide good wine glasses or do just do not have them and the renters end up having to use one or two plastic + one or two IKEA wine glasses. Not the case here!
