Average Property for the price
A nice host very informative of local area with good advice. Crimson Villa is a little dated with older style reverse cycle air conditioner dated bathrooms and kitchen. Not the best street appeal with half wrecked car parked out the front. Owners dog does bark a little not excessively. It was a little disappointing that on arrival we were informed that the host had made a mistake in calculating the fee for staying and we owed her $45. Overall the unit was pretty clean but only average value or money.
Hi Vanessa, Thank you for your feedback. I think you are perhaps a little confused, our property is 3.5 stars and priced accordingly; not 5 stars as you seem to have based your rating on. The Blue Mountains are the second most visited site outside the Opera House and accommodation is priced accordingly. Whilst the kitchen and bathrooms are 10 years old they have only been used for 5 years and in extremely good condition and very clean. If they were the latest on trend then our rates would be commensurate with that. In the mountains air conditioners are rarely used we focus on heating, unlike warmer climates and to update an air conditioner that is hardly used and works perfectly well just because it is an older shape is not a priority. You were not charged more than initially quoted, but yes I did make an error in calculating your balance payment and rather than just deduct your card for the undercharge I chose to wait until your arrived to discuss my error with you in politeness. I am sure had the error not been in your favour you would have immediately let me know. Many people like the fact that a dog was around, albeit in his own area away from guests - why you felt the need to mention it I am unsure as he was not a problem, unfortunately he has since passed away. A car parked in the street we have no control over, people are free to park cars. Fortunately most of our guests focus on birds in the garden, cleanliness, 82m2 living space, 2 bedrooms, well equipped and great information to make their stay enjoyable and our average rating is 9.4 out of 10.
perfect weekend away with family, house in great location, clean and everything as expected. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, highly recommend

Whilst we have the pleasure of being out of the busy tourist area, nothing in Katoomba is far away - we are 5 minutes drive to Scenic World, Katoomba town centre for shopping and restaurants, 3 Sisters and many lookouts and walking trails. Katoomba is a small town of 7500 residents at the top of the Blue Mountains National Park - the only World Heritage city within 2 hours of a capital city in the world! A great base to go further afield to the small villages of Medlow Bath where you will find the Hydro Majestic Hotel - great for lunch or their famous high tea; on to Blackheath, a great spot to get a glimpse of a north eastern view of the mountains. Down to the Megalong valley - the farm of the mountains, horse riding, wineries, olive groves and more to enjoy. Further along the highway, 70km from Crimson Villa is Jenolan Caves - a great day trip and you can include the country town of Oberon and Mayfield Gardens - spectacular in spring and autumn - take the Duckmaloi road home for a countryside view. Once over the mountain range you can explore the central ranges - great country towns of Bathurst, Orange and Mudgee with many wineries to enjoy.
Heading east towards Sydney are the quaint towns of Leura that is especially beautiful in spring with cherry blossoms lining the streets, a great little shopping area. On to Wentworth Falls, where you will find the largest waterfalls in the mountains. A large loop road at the end with free parking and picnic area at the track end where you can access several walks along the cliff edges and have lunch at the Conservation Hut. If you have more than a couple of days to spend, talk to us about some of the more secret spots that few ever get to explore....
