About this property

Our portuguese-style house with spacious terrace is located in the historical center of Trafaria. This village is very family-friendly and known for it's amazing fresh fish and seafood as it is where the Tagus river meets the ocean.
Shops, restaurants and public transport are on your doorstep and you can be in Lisbon (Belém) within 15 minutes by Ferry.

Trafaria has a nice beach, but the best beach can be found in Costa da Caparica, which is 10 minutes by bus or bike (2.4km).

The space
The house is a typical single-level Portuguese house with 3 bedrooms (double bedroom, twin bedroom and bunk beds bedroom). The bathroom has been modernized; the kitchen is spacious, has all needed appliances and kitchenware. You can have your meal in the kitchen area, or eat on the terrace. On the terrace you can also find the BBQ and the Pizza oven.

The living room has entertainment: there is a TV, Netflix, Playstation, family games and books.

Einfach aber schön

Das Haus hat alles was es braucht. Am meisten haben wir die süße Terrasse genossen mit Grill. Es war sauber, die Matratzen gut und zum Empfang gab es eine Flasche Rotwein und eine Flasche Wasser. Bäcker und kleine Supermärkte gibt es in der Nähe und man ist in 5 min an der Fähre nach Behlem. Von dort mit Bus oder Taxi (5€) in der Altstadt.

Petit oasis de calme

Tres joli patio, alors qu'on se trouve en ville. Les commerces sont à 300m. Chez le boucher, le poissonier, le boulanger on rencontre les locaux ce qui est très agreable. Tres bien situé pour visiter Belem, le ferry se trouve à 400m. Pour visiter l'Alfama il vaut mieux se rendre à Cacilhas (15 minutes) en voiture. Le bateau pour traverser le Tage part toutes les 15 minutes et en face on accede au métro. Pour ceux qui préfèrent les plages, elles ne sont également pas trop loin. Nous avons apprécier le calme du gîte au retour des sites de visites très courrus...

Bon séjour

Location très proche de Lisbonne, facile pour prendre les transports (ferry), location au calme même si elle se trouve en ville. L'hôte est très accueillante et disponible.

Un petit nid douillet entre Belém et Costa Caparica

Hors de l'excitation de la ville de Lisbonne et de la Costa Caparica, au calme dans un village de pêcheur, il suffit de prendre le ferry pour rejoindre Belém, ou son vélo pour longer la côte et profiter des plages. La maison est très cozy et s'ouvre sur une petite cour charmante. L' hote est de très bon conseil et a l'écoute!

Why they chose this property

After 6 years in London we decided we decided to change in favor of a quiet life full of sun and good food. Trafaria is still a village but close to everything, if we want to go into the buzz of Lisbon the ferry boat takes us in 15min into Belem.
There are loads of beaches around Trafaria and the village still has a traditional charm about it.
The house itself we chose because it was still in good condition and it had a traditional layout and look but most of all it has a lovely terrace where we can have a meal.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the place because people still say good morning when you pass, we can take a 5 minutes walk to the river and have a lovely view over Belem. Everyone meets at the church plaza where the bell still gives you the hours.
There are hidden gems all over the village, an old building called "Casino" with cultural events and a bar, the old prison, hiking paths to the forest, etc
Most of all we are surrounded by beaches and amazing food and people.
