Welcome to Casa Azul, between two of the oldest and most typical neighborhoods in the Center of Lisbon: ALFAMA and MOURARIA
Casa Azul offers you an exceptional view on several viewpoints of the city center, it is close to BAIXA and a stone's throw from Castelo de SĂŁo Jorge.
Casa Azul is a duplex apartment located on the 3rd floor of a typical Mouraria building, and completely refurbished but without elevator.
Its calm will assure you a total rest. It has 3 bedrooms combining Portuguese tradition and modernity, with double beds. All linens are provided.

You can also relax in the lounge (music, television, videos, books, etc.), where you can dine or have breakfast as a family. You will find maps, flyers of the main tourist sites to visit, need to go to the tourist office.

Casa Azul is less than 5 minutes' walk from public transport: tram No. 28 (the famous Lisbon electric train), metro MARTIN MONIZ, green line, going to CAIS DO SODRE station (Metro , bus, tram, trains for the rest of the country and the beach, boats for crossing the Tagus, walks and cruises, all types of rental companies
).

You are immediately in the heart of the Alfama district like that of Mouraria to visit the typical shops.
In 15 minutes on foot you will be at the National Pantheon and at the Feira da Ladra, the famous Lisbon flea market, and in the evening you will find the typical Portuguese restaurants with their fado singers.
Only 10 minutes on foot are necessary to reach the Baixa district in the city center which will lead you to the shopping district of Chiado and that of Bairo Alto, one of the lively nocturnal districts to distract you in the evening.

This apartment is in an amazing location where we were able to walk easily to different neighborhoods or access public transportation. The owner provided excellent instructions and the place was spotless upon arrival. The only issue we encountered was that it was difficult to cool the place down on the hotter days - especially the upstairs bedroom as the apartment is not air conditioned. A lovely space with all you need for a great stay.

Great location

Casa Azul is in a great location for walking to great viewpoints as well as the Metro. Brigida was quick to respond to any questions. The checkin process was super easy. Lots of room for the three of us. Nice to have the laundry available.

The apartment was really nice and was extremely clean. Instructions for washing machine and electrical box, oven should also be in English. Communication with owner was always responded to quickly. The only real issue was running more than a couple of appliances at once shuts done the power. Overall a good place to stay.

Great location to everything you can imagine doing. My only caution is the upstairs is for the shorter version human beings there was a lot of head hitting on the ceiling’s because they are slanted along with the shower but other than this, I would recommend it and I would try to come back myself. The neighborhood was so welcoming to us, they felt like family by the time we left. Thanks for our stay.

The good:The location is in walking distance to many great areas.The apartment was large enough for our family of five, with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms.The unit itself has a lot of potential, however...The bad:The area is mostly safe, though there is one or two roads leading to the unit that feel sketchy. We were on our way back one night and a Portuguese driver stopped his car to tell us the street we were about to go down leading to the home was not safe. There were other routes that we could take though.The unit itself has a lot of potential, but the furnishings and sheets feel all like whatever second hand goods were available. Wasn't a big deal as we didn't spend much time in the unit and what was there was functional.The Ugly:2nd night in upon coming back to the unit, we found what looked like little cockroaches by the lower bathroom shower. It's definitely an older building, so had hoped it was a one off. Killed the ones we were able. The following nights though, same issue. 3-4 bugs in the bathroom.On our last night, the lower bathroom lock failed to open, trapping my wife in the restroom for 45 mins. It's an old key style lock and we tried the key from both sides of the door with no luck, wouldn't budge. Tried calling the host. The French area code number on VRBO seemed to not work as listed. Got them on text but they were not helpful. Was to the point of calling emergency or knocking on neighbors doors for help, but was finally able to force it open.

Comfortable

Unfortunately during our stay in Lisbon there was also the World Youth Day. And so there was very noisy stage on Martim Mortiz place until late in the night. Despite of that it was quite quiet in the night. The appartement is located near the city, so the ways are quite short. But on the other side the quarter itself is dirty and very noisy on the day. The rooms were clean. In the appartement was everything we needed. Only the WLAN credentials were wrong. We will send the right ones.

The rooms were comfortable, but steep narrow stairs with no elevator. The outside was dirty, garbage everywhere, homelessness and crowd hanging out late nights drinking. I felt uncomfortable with my 85 year old dad.

Nous avons apprĂ©ciĂ© la disposition du logement sur deux Ă©tages avec ses 3 chambres et surtout la belle vue sur Lisbonne. Cependant, il faut savoir que les escaliers de l’immeuble sont trĂšs ardus pour s’y rendre, soyez avertis.Du cĂŽtĂ© nĂ©gatif, l’entretien laisse Ă  dĂ©sirer : certains draps Ă©taient tachĂ©s, le matelas de la chambre Ă  l’étage Ă©galement, et une poignĂ©e de porte n’était pas bien fixĂ©e. Les fans de salle de bain ne fonctionnaient pas, et dans la cuisine, nous avons trouvĂ© de la vaisselle encore sale dans les armoires.En rĂ©sumĂ©, le logement a du potentiel et une belle disposition, mais un entretien et un nettoyage plus rigoureux seraient nĂ©cessaires pour amĂ©liorer l’expĂ©rience.

Family stay with teenagers in Lisbon July 2025

The property is in a great location for access to local cafes, shops and bars. Its a short walk to the Metro and other modes of transport. The appartment was clean and comfortable and a great base for getting around Lisbon.Beware of all the hilly streets though when it comes to getting luggage to appartment.We had a very enjoyable stay and made some great memories.

Though the apartment was beautiful and had the essentials, the lack fans was a huge problem. We could not get the apartment cool enough even with leaving the shutters closed all day and windows open at night. A better description and number of stairs would have been helpful. We found the stairs narrow and somewhat steep.

Wonderful spacious apartment

This apt is spacious and updated on the inside. It is a good location with groceries, cafes, and restaurants within a 15 min walk. It is difficult to get luggage up the stairs to the apt, but there is a wonderful view out of the bedroom windows. We loved it!
