A college friend and I (we’re in our 40s) decided to get away from the big city of Chicago and see something new, while being pandemic-responsible and driving to our destination. This home was pristinely clean, with lots of nice updates to the original structure (which is probably 60-70 years old if I were to throw out a guess). It is about 10 minutes’ drive from downtown Louisville, located in in a very friendly neighborhood that leans on the liberal side of things. For us city slickers, that was perfect. But even if you’re not, the neighborhood seems to have a nice mix of all philosophies and persuasions, and the neighbors are all so darned friendly, you can’t help but smile after so many friendly waves and hellos.
The house sleeps 6 in beds (2 queen beds in 2 bedrooms, 2 single beds upstairs in the loft/attic room), or 8 if you also use the couches in the living room. The kitchen is well stocked, so you’ve got pots, pans, utensils, and other accoutrements if you need them. If you plant to cook, bring what food you need, or buy it in town — there are no extra staples laid up in the cupboards. But given pandemic times, that’s a good thing right? Do you want to use someone else’s flour these days? I didn’t think so.
Amy, the owner, was very responsive and helpful—top-notch VRBO provider.
I wholeheartedly recommend this home if you’re planning a Louisville trip. Thank you, Amy!
