About this property
The Lazy Olive (Tembel Zeytin), a Lovely Private Villa
Our four-bedroom country house stands alone in its own two-acre (8000 sq m) garden. The villa is ideal for adventurous spirits who love comfort, privacy and the rugged beauty of one of Turkey's most unspoiled mountain parks.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are gorgeous for hiking stretches of the nearby Lycian Way. We love to do this and can supply some great one-day routes, including to the top of the nearby Mount Olympos (the peak is at 2365 m / 7760 ft).
Summer is sunny and can get hot in July and August. Luckily you'll be within 25 minutes' drive of three of Turkey's most beautiful Mediterranean beaches, One of our favourite activities is to charter a small boat to go bay-hopping between Adrasan and Olympos (a a modest typical cost $200 for 10 people for the whole day, including lunch).
Other outings include the ascent of Mount Olympos by cable car, trips to the ruins of the remarkable classical cities of Olympos, Phaselis and several others a bit further afield, and of course an evening walk to the everlasting flames of the Chimaera behind Cirali.
The house is well-insulated, has good ceiling fans and there are plenty of shady places to sit outside. Please note there is no air conditioning or central heating, which is how we prefer to enjoy being at one with nature.
