About this property
For a couple, a group, or one of life's celebrations
Stylish, exclusive use, and luxurious, this authentic Victorian house is located in iconic Maldon. There are several price points available. Fairbank offers six guests 3 bed/3 baths: one has a very large bed (or two superking singles) with walk-in shower ensuite; another is a master queen with a full ensuite clad in Carrara marble, and the third queen has another full bathroom down the hall. All have Posturedic pillowtop mattresses and Sheridan Egyptian cotton bedlinen and towels, plus individual 'Pure' toiletries. Quilts are top quality down and feather.
Fairbank offers extensive indoor and outdoor entertaining options. Your home away from home is climate controlled, with gas log fire, free wifi and integrated screen-based entertainment. Superior furnishings and fully equipped kitchen and dining room offer guests the choice of preparing their own meals with provisions from the artisan food providers 300m away, or investigating the authentic cafes and hotels along Main and High Streets. There's a complementary hamper of local produce, plus a bottle of quality wine, provisions for breakfast and larder essentials.
Literally sitting on a goldmine (South Alliance), there's a large secure garden with inbuilt BBQ from which food can be served on the patio or the large outdoor dining area off the lounge. The pergola offers sun-soaking luxury, and the garden is beautiful. The accommodation is suitable for all ages and families including well-behaved paws. It's especially good for downsizers who want some quality family time to celebrate one of life's milestones. Fairbank offers great value for money.

Maldon's authentic streetscapes of High and Main Streets showcase a wide variety of shops:
antiques and collectables, galleries. museums and of course food and wine. The Kangaroo Hotel dates back to the sixties - that's 1860s - and the later Maldon Hotel is impressive with its iron lace on its two stories.
Walking trails include three comprehensive walks around town, available from Fairbank's wifi, and the Parks Victoria Goldfields trail opposite that winds its way from the Battery, past the Beehive Chimney and the Machinery Museum through town and up to Anzac Hill for that all important photo shoot.
The Victorian Goldfield Railway operates on Wednesdays and Sundays, often on Saturdays and for special occasions. There's always something coming up in Maldon, from January's Starlight Dinner in Main Street, the oldest Easter Fair in Australia, the iconic Folk Festival in October, and several themed events as well, such as the Campdraft.
By car (or bike) you can see the hidden parts of Maldon, the Nuggetys goldmines, still in operation, Bowe's cottages to the north, the tower on top of Mt Tarrangower, and Carman's Tunnel and the North British ruins to the south.
Why not gather provisions and go for a swim (or fish) in Lake Cairn Curran at Baringhup? Trips further afield include visiting Tarnagulla and Moliagul (Welcome Stranger), or take in the city sights at Castlemaine, visit Fryerstown and Vaughan Springs, or join the million plus visitors annually at Daylesford. Macedon and Kyneton also add to the appeal.
Maldon is in central Victoria. For a week's stay, day trip suggestions include Echuca and the Murray, 1 hr 40 mins, or the Great Western wineries at a similar distance
