Idyllic Farm Cottage with Outdoor Bath Under the Stars
Outdoor bath with hot running water, fresh air and a view. Lie back listen to the birds settle down for the night, watch the stars come out - and all from the bath! A truly unique and glorious experience.

The Rockies now has paintings by several local artists hanging in the house. Some of these belong to The Rockies but many are for sale.
10 minutes to Cudal or Manildra. 30 minutes to vineyards, restaurants, Canowindra, Molong or 40 minutes to Orange. Dirt road access - both public road and on-farm track, conditions vary on both. 4WD is not required but at least average clearance is necessary.
We cannot take pets because of native animals that frequent the garden.
Sunny house with 1 new Queen bed in master bedroom 1 new Double bed in second bedroom 2 new King singles in third bedroom - can be converted to King Double All with built in cupboards and plenty of space.
Slow combustion heater. Can have bonfire in yard between 1st April and 1st October - as long as it is not too dry.
Free to air TV Good mobile reception - although you can pretend there is none. Lots of books, boardgames and puzzles.
Kitchen stocked with basics as well as some local goodies and a little produce from the farm vegie garden.
Beautiful walks across the paddocks or through the bush right at your door. Space for the kids to run around, ride their bikes or just potter about in the yard or the paddock. You can watch from the recliners on the verandah with a coffee or a glass of wine.

There are 3 golf courses in Orange, plus courses in other surrounding towns - Canowindra, Molong, Forbes, Parkes, Cowra, all within easy distance.
Nangar National Park is only a short distance away.
We are a working farm, and on the edge of a real forest, so children must be kept in sight at all times to ensure their safety. Although The Rockies is 2km from farm sheds so it is very quiet.
The creek is on the farm, but is 2km from The Rockies house. In wetter periods there are streams closer to the house. Kids or adults can play at building dams, paddle, etc, in any of these, season and safety permitting.
Our weather is between that of Parkes and Orange. It is colder in winter than Sydney - but not as cold as Orange. The house has heating and air conditioning. We are happy to share our pool if you are here in hot weather.
We are in the country, there will always be wildlife, from kangaroos, emus and eagles to snakes, lizards and insects.
We occasionally have floods which prevent access to the farm. If this occurs and your booking has to be cancelled, we will refund the full cost of the booking, except the Stayz fee, or you can change your booking to another date.
Early check in is almost always available if required.

Cosy cottage surrounded by abundant flora and fauna. An array of yummo goodies greeted us on arrival. Comfy beds, modern bathroom and plenty of kitchenware for dinners indoorsThe walks behind the cottage are well worth it to take in the view for miles and miles. The pics of the outdoor bath speak for themselves!
Lovely little country cottage if you want a stay in the middle of nowhere but 10 mins to the coffee shop!. Bath is a highlight and get you pool chair and sit out under the stars! thank you Sally for the little finishing touches - little gifts and herbs.
Sally was a delightful host, and the Rockies is the prefect escape, beautiful veiws, comfy bed,and everything you need to be comfortable
and the bath is a huge highlight, would recomend this place to anyone looking to escape life for a few days
We had a truly wonderful getaway, peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Sally was an exceptional host. She kindly provided fresh vegetables and herbs for us, which was a lovely touch, and there were plenty of games to keep the kids entertained. The highlight of our trip was the campfire, spending quality time together as a family, away from the city and our devices, while enjoying nature and going for walks. It was a memorable experience, and we’re very grateful for the hospitality. We will be back
It was exceptional from every point of view. We spent wonderful 3 days and nights. A great base to explore the nearby Mount Nangar National Park and limestone caves.Very generous host - we have just used the last herbs that Sally had left in a glass of water in the House, along with other goodies. We would definitively stay again.
Completely serene, from enjoying the red wine in front of the fire, to the outside bath under the stars, the morning hello from the kangaroos to the stroll into the surrounding forest.
Myself and my partner had a wonderful week at Sally’s cabin we loved the atmosphere and most of all that we could actually stop and relax.
I loved the bath and listening to all the baby lambs..
recommend this amazing accommodation to anyone.
We had the most amazing time, the place was like a balm to bustling city living.
Our host Sally was incredible, with extra activities like feeding chickens and collecting eggs.
The night star gazing was fantastic!
Thanks for having us Sally, hope to return 😊
Lovely place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Quiet and relaxing. Lovely bathtub in the paddock to enjoy with a glass of wine from one of the local vineyards. Friendly and accommodating hosts. Looking forward to going back.
We absolutely loved The Rockies. So peaceful, tranquil, and perfect for a family getaway. We were able to explore the property, collect firewood, see the animals and native wildlife, and enjoy a cozy dinner by the fire. The host was so friendly and easy to communicate with. We’d love to come back again!
This property is very much a bush retreat. Expect wildlife, wonderful views and proper country roads. It was great to be able to walk the farm with the kids. Close enough to places like Orange too for day trips.
Lovely place to escape and recharge surrounded by nature. Well equipped kitchen so you dont have to venture out unless you want to. Will definitely be back.
If you like peace and tranquility away from the city lights, this is a great option and in reality is not too far from the delights of Orange. We were a group of 4 work associates and commuted daily to Orange. We loved the wood burner, outdoor firepit, outdoor bath (highly recommended) and all the goodies Sally left for us including fresh veggies and herbs from her garden. She was an outstanding host and was immediately responsive to any questions or requests. A bonus was an eclectic collection of local artworks in the cottage some of which is for sale. The cottage itself is simply decorated yet very comfortable and functional. Overall 10/10 from us.
It was freezing outside but the cottage was cosy and comfortable. We were able to walk out and admire the views, listen to the frogs and birdsong and think about how hard life must have been there when the place was first settled. For our granddaughter - a city based 18 year old - it was mind boggling. Once convinced she did have phone reception and that snakes were not going to leap out and attack her she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
My partner and I absolutely loved our stay. Definitely exceeded all expectations. Came with complimentary gifts of wine, herbs, jams and more. The outdoor bath was the highlight of the stay. Gorgeous during sunset as well as the beautiful views that come with it. Can’t wait to come back
We had a wonderful two nights - soo relaxing and the bath was amazing- some bathed under the stars - others in the evening- it was magical - we had a lovely outdoor fire - the house was toasty and we really appreciated the yummy treats Sally left us. Communication with Sally was excellent - no delays and she was very welcoming - we'll come again
Sally's property is a perfect place if you want to get away from concrete jungle. It is a peaceful farm with kangaroos occasionally visiting. The outdoor bath is an excellent addition. And lastly the local goodies that Sally had for us were a great touch.
Would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Orange and want to have a peaceful time.
