About Nick Dooley
I was born in Melbourne in 1953. I have lived in Warrandyte (near Melbourne), Canberra, Sydney, Gerroa (near Kiama NSW), Millgrove (near Warburton Vic) and Bloomington (Indiana USA). My life revolves around music ~ studying, practicing, performing and listening. I have taught jazz improvisation and theory in tertiary jazz courses at Canberra School of Music (ANU) and Wollongong Conservatorium. I have also taught trumpet and keyboard based theory and improvisation privately. I no longer play trumpet and my musical horizons have broadened beyond jazz and blues to include folk, bluegrass and contemporary music including 'world' and singer songwriter styles. I mainly play guitar and sing but also play piano for teaching purposes. Other interests are natural healing and reading/watching crime fiction. I have 2 sons and 2 granddaughters.

Nice room in interesting mudbrick house
Very sweet mud brick development. Woke to the sound of birds and opened the door to rainbow lorikeets, king parrots, galahs, pigeons, seagulls, ducks. Nick was very helpful and generous.
Mallacoota is a lovely place. The mud brick house was well located.
The host Nick Dooley was lovely . We did not expect to be sharing the house with him but it was not an issue at all. He tried to give us as much privacy as he could and was very accommodating re use of the kitchen and lounge room. It could be improved by having less clutter around and cleaner furniture and kitchen equipment. The outdoor area has beautiful views so we dined outside most often but the furniture was not clean. We are campers so don't mind a bit of dirt and bird poo but not everyone would appreciate having to sit on that furniture. What the shared space lacked in cleanliness was more than made up for by Nick's genuine hospitality and care. Eggs and bacon for brekkie - yum!
Quirky ∫eresting adobe flat
Can’t thank the host enough for his beyond-call-of-duty help in assisting us with bushwalking emergency. Also room & bed very comfortable & fab view from main room
A comfortable stay, although just one night, the bed was comfortable and the welcome a warm one.
Great location, went for a run along the foreshore into the Cryojingalong National Park very pretty, great citrus trees all over the property, great oranges, manderines, grapefruit. Nick very nice fellow, homely accom.
