Cold Times in Crescent
Crescent Head is a great spot but there are better properties than this if you choose to visit. While it's an older house, it would be more user friendly with a House Manual explaining how to work the oven, how to turn the hot water system on, etc. It's great that this place is pet friendly and while the private garden is nice, it is not secure so you can't leave them in the yard. Pets need to stay on a wooden balcony. For me this meant I couldn't leave them alone because they couldn't go to the bathroom. The gas tank ran out and so we couldn't have hot showers nor use the stove top for the last few days. Took a day and a half before it was going to be addressed by which time we'd had enough. Most frustrating was the response of the agent managing the property... We had to chase up to get hot water. Felt as though we were difficult for wanting hot showers. Disappointing unfortunately!
The property is a bit run down
The property is in need of a bit of attention. For example, two of the blinds in the main bedroom have been largely removed, as has the one in the dining area. The lighting is poor. The carpets could do with a thorough steam clean.
The driveway is very steep, and it is very difficult to back out. The property is advertised as “pet friendly”, but is not fenced, and hence a dog could run out onto Dulconghi Street.
It is disappointing that there is no wi-fi.
On the positive side, the kitchen is very modern and has a good range of appliances and utensils. But it is here that the quirky lighting is most ineffective. The pantry in particular is in poerpetual darkness.
The photograhed slow combustion stove seems to be decorative only, and two of the provided heaters were hard to operate - we failed to rise to this challenge.
Hi Bruce - your feedback is good and useful. Since receiving it i've replaced all the lights, ordered a new gas fireplace, replaced the blinds, replaced the washing machine and dyrer, replaced the gutters on the north side. I agree, the driveway is difficult to reverse up. I also had a gated fence installed in the bottom balcony to at least provide a secure area for Pets, though i don't have approval from the neighbours to put a fence around the whole property unfortunately. Thanks again for your feedback, i do try to improve upon the place where i can. Kind Regards, Scot
Pleasant Creso Stay
It was a great location and quite comfortable and we enjoyed out stay there, however the place is a little 'tired' and need of some maintenance.
We had a lovely stay in Crescent Head. Even though it's an older style home, it was fully equipped with everything and the views are lovely. Taking our dog with us on holidays was even better, thank you !
Thanks for your kind review Hayley - we offer a discount for repeat guests so do let me know if you'd ever like to stay again - Best Regards - Scot
Crescent head is one of the last remaining places on the east coast one can relax!!!!!
