Peace & Tranquility

Clean and tidy house. Good price. Perfect location- close to river and walking bridge to beach. Shops and club nearby. Everywhere is walking distance. Great for family with kids. PS check the toilet before using. There’s a harmless resident green tree frog the size of an adult hand, who appears nightly. Great for a laugh

Rainbow Lodge

There is a note in the bathroom to inform me of a septic system being in place. It says septic suitable toilet paper is provided however, there is nothing here. This was not discussed before arriving either and where am I to find some at 5pm when I’ve arrived? This has left me in a very awkward situation. Does this also affect disinfectant used, washing powder and dishwashing detergent? The home itself is quaint yet dirty. There is a dirty sock under the children's bed both of which are NOT suitable for the adults staying (which I have mentioned there being 4 adults in previous emails). These small bed frames and foam mattresses would have been VERY important to mention prior to me booking as for an average sized woman and a 6ft 2” man, it is impossible to sleep. A few dead cockroaches were found on the kitchen floor & in the bathroom under the shelves which I assume would mean the house had been sprayed however, it isn’t pleasant walking into. The kitchen condiments that are left, I assume to be used, are all out of date, some by 11 years. The cabinets and some items are sticky. This is something I can look past as I have brought all my own things, however, again, this is something that is extremely off putting and leaving me feeling unsure whether this house is consistently cleaned or whether it had been cleaned much at all. The paperwork I received when collecting keys states no pets of any description. Thank you, Jenny

Rainbow Lodge was a neat little house with everything needed for a young family of four- recommended

Good kitchen, breakfast table for 4 people. Good bedrooms with plenty of drawers and handing closets. Quiet and private with plenty of garden space for children to enjoy. Short walk to estuary and footbridge to surf beach. Good value for money accomodation. Only improvements we’d suggest- bigger TV (or no TV at all)- the little TV way to small to enjoy. Upgrade the sofas- current ones not very comfortable and the cushions slip out of position. Also upgrade the electric kettle (current one is a nasty old plastic model) or provide a kettle for the gas stove top. These are minor issues but would greatly enhance a stay at Rainbow Lodge

Neat, basic close to town

Clean, but oven didn't work, grill hard to start. Lovely little basic tidy house. All you need is there.
