The Station House | 6 Bedrooms | 3 Bathroom | Where History Meets Rustic Charm
Nestled in the tranquil countryside, The Station House is one of the oldest properties in Daylesford, built in 1853. A striking residence offering a peaceful escape for up to 12 guests, with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Surrounded by greenery and a manicured garden, this historic homestead is a haven for those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Victorian countryside. With interiors as captivating as the natural landscape, The Station House is more than a place to stay—it's a destination in itself.
Inside, the thoughtfully designed lounge features windows on three sides, filling the space with natural light and offering views of the garden. Leather couches and rustic wooden furnishings create a cozy, inviting ambience, while artworks lend character to the room. The adjacent dining room, with its large rustic table, comfortably seats 12 and is perfect for group gatherings.
The kitchen adjoins the dining room and is both functional and charming, with wooden countertops and a wall of windows creating a bright, welcoming atmosphere. Each of the six bedrooms exudes elegance and comfort, with combination of vintage and antique furniture, polished floorboards, and the most comfortable beds! French doors open onto the verandah of the front two bedrooms, and split system heating and cooling in the living rooms ensure year-round comfort.
The Station House offers a unique retreat, blending rustic charm with modern comforts. Its shared estate with The Manor House divided by a tall hedge, makes it ideal for larger groups of up to 28 guests, while nearby attractions like Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens and the vibrant town of Daylesford add to its allure.

Lovely stay in a clean home with charming old-era character. The lounge and dining areas easily fit our group of 11. The bedrooms were large with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well-equipped and clean. Great location with easy walking distance to shops and market.
I absolutely loved staying at the Station House. Such a beautiful home. I immediately felt at home and was able to relax in a beautiful setting. The decor is divine, location great and perfect for a mid sized group. Could not recommend it more highly and the communication with Houses of Daylesford was excellent.
A group of 6 adults stayed at this delightful, spacious house. The location is within walking distance to town centre but nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac.Make sure to visit The Virgin Kitchen. You will get a discount on your meal, which was delicious!

House of Art
Felt like I was staying in a very unusual Art Gallery. Had to keep our clothes in our bags because nowhere to hang them. It was great to have all our family together and we had lots of fun.

Our stay at The Station house last week end had both highs and lows. The house was beautifully warm on arrival and all the bedrooms were just amazingly clean, very large and overall we couldn’t fault. The bathrooms were very clean, lots of hot water for all. Now the kitchen…what a shock. The oven didn’t work and the seals on the oven door were so bad they had a clip on it to shut…all the dials you could not read as they had been washed off…we had bought food to heat up!!!! plates, cutlery, kitchen utensils were disgraceful….hand wash had been watered down in kitchen….but on top of this the kitchen was full of ants !!! We had to put everything in the fridge. I had read these similar comments in other reviews and thought perhaps the owners may have addressed them. When paying top end to stay somewhere like this property it is very disappointing. If booking this place I would make inquiries if these problems have been addressed.
The house was large, bedrooms attractive and comfortable. The lounge had enough seating for the number of bedrooms and the dining table was commodious. The house was way too warm because it was 27degrees but the heating could not be turned off. The grounds were lovely and everything was walking didtance
Perfect time away with the girls. Lovely home, amazing location. We will be back! Thank you!

Absolute bliss!
We had a girls weekend away and wanted a house where we could have group meals and time together but also individually rest and relax - this house provided a perfect space for both!
The house was comfortable, clean, well situated and stylistically stunning! Could not ask for better accommodation

Perfect for a catch up with friends
Booked the Station House for a girls night away with some old friends and it was wonderful. A beautiful old house with great heating (very important in July!) the owners had it all warm and ready for us when we arrived. Kitchen/ lounge area was such a great space to gather around it was hard to drag ourselves away to get dinner (very handy having a good pub across the road!). The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with generous king and queen sized beds. Owners were very easy to deal with and accommodating - a real pleasure to stay here

Great property for getaway weekend
To open the door on a cold winter day to a toasty warm house was a taste of the lovely surrounds we were to enjoy for a weekend with our extended family. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The kitchen, meals area and lounge area is spacious allowing for general family interaction or a small group interaction. This area easily accommodated the large family group. Our family group thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
