Spent a weekend at this house with a few friends and my 4 boys - absolutely loved it. Plenty for the kids to do and some very picturesque locations nearby. Great campfire too in the evening. Has everything you need and then some.

We had a great stay despite poor weather. The property managers were very friendly and looked after us well and property was as described, clean and with all the facilities we needed. A great little getaway from the City life.

We highly recommend these guests to any future renters! They stayed with us for four nights and left the entire house sparkling clean! We appreciated that in a big way. Thank you so much. We hope that Jimna will be a place that you'll return again, to get away from the big smoke! Fingers crossed the weather will be more favourable then :)
It was great to host John and his accompanying guests. It was also much appreciated that they checked out leaving the house very clean and tidy. They all would be very welcome for a future stay.
Cheers
Pete

Hi Ana! We're so pleased to hear you had a wonderful New Year's Eve! Cosy sounds like the way to go. We'd be happy to have you and your group back any time. You left the house nice and tidy before you left and we're very grateful for that. Hope you all have a wonderful 2021. - Jimna Base Camp.
My friend and our four kids thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was beautifully cosy and there were plenty of facilities available to the kids.
The owner/manager was always on hand to help us out if we needed anything.
There were also a number of places of interest to visit, including the fire tower and the camp site where you can see wallabies (and platypus if you're lucky - we weren't!).

Hi there, and thank you for such a lovely review of our Bush House! We are so happy that you enjoyed your impromptu one night away with the kids, and we thank you for leaving the house very clean and tidy before you left. We'd recommend you to other hosts and you'd be welcome back if you're ever up this way again :)
To be honest we were looking for something a little more up market for our long weekend away with my family and my sister's family but most places were booked out. This place exceeded our expectations and turned out to be exactly what we all needed. A quiet bush retreat with beautiful walks close by - easy enough for the youngest member of our family to handle without complaining (6 years old), as well as the convenience of the old school facilities - tennis /basket ball court, playground equipment and oval to kick a footy. We made use of everything, including the DVD player, BBQ under the house and the fire pit. It was cool overnight (August) but the living room heated up nicely and the beds had electric blankets which was a novelty for the kids. The kitchen table comfortably seated our group of 7 and the cooking facilities were adequate. The manager Pete was on hand to greet us on arrival and had vast knowledge of the history of the area and the surrounding walks. For my sister and I who grew up in an old weatherboard country house of a similar age it felt very nostalgic to stay in the old principal's house. For my husband who grew up in Tokyo - it was a novel experience.

Suzi and her lovely family were wonderful guests. They enjoyed the self-contained 3-bedroom house and utlised all the facilities on offer at Jimna Base Camp. They left the house in a very clean and tidy condition upon leaving, and are welcome back as guests, anytime! Highly recommended guests for all HomeAway properties. (And thank you Suzi for the amazing review you gave us, too!)
Loved the use of the tennis courts, playground and our own fire pit. Well stocked kitchen.

Cherrie and family left our house absolutely spotless before they departed! They were an amazing family to host and made good use of our tennis court, too, which we're always happy to see! Would highly recommend Cherrie's family to stay at yours and we'd welcome them back anytime. :-)

Fantastic 4 day weekend
Recently we booked Jimna Base Camp for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary 4 day weekend celebration. I live in Cairns (born in Kilcoy) and have alot of extended family in and around Brisbane Valley, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich and was looking for somewhere central for everyone to travel to, stay if they wanted and enjoy our family celebration. I looked EVERYWHERE, and I can assure you, we could not have chosen a better venue. Robyn was a pleasure to deal with right from the beginning and was as keen as I was to make sure the 4 day weekend ran just like I wanted it to. So helpful and made my job of organising from afar so much easier! Thank you Robyn, we all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed our time at Jimna Base Camp immensely. We had people stay in caravans, campervans, tents and swags...and some of us were lucky enough to stay in the beautiful old principals house. I wish I could live in that house permanently, I loved it! So well maintained, fresh and clean. The wool and feather doonas were a warm welcome for us Far North Queenslanders, let me tell you! There is nothing that I could say we wished we could change, or needed or would do differently...this venue was THE BEST! Trust Robyn when she says that everything is there...it really is! We were so amazed! The Old School building is beautiful...we set up under the house, with fully equipped kitchen, it was well used for our celebration and the general meeting place for everyone to congregate over the weekend....with full view of the tennis court and surrounds. The fire pit was amazing! It went the whole weekend and was another family hang out that we all enjoyed! Thanks for all the firewood Robyn and Ross, much appreciated! There's even a full playground with sandpit and toys as well! Fantastic! Plenty of parking space too.... In all, don't look past this place, you will not regret it, we can't wait to go back and do it all again. Thanks for everything Robyn and Ross, you have a wonderful thing going on there in Jimna.

Fabulous family getaway
Amazing place to stay on so many levels. Our three young kids had so much to do - bush walks, swims in the creek, bike rides, scooter, tennis, basketball, fire pit...they had a ball. The house was lovely, everything we could possibly need, fully set-up kitchen, comfy beds and electric blankets, portacot provided and even toys and movies. Robyn and Ross were outstanding. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a family holiday near the bush but with all the comforts of home.

Great family bush experience
I stayed at Holiday Bush House with my husband, sister and 4 primary school aged kids. Even though it happened to be a particularly hot weekend, the house was comfy and very well equipped and cooled down well at night.(aircon in living room only) The basketball/tennis court was a big hit. We enjoyed lighting up the fire pit to toast marshmallows and the surrounding bush was beautifully serene. The nearby campsite at Peach Trees has good nature trails and a swimming hole, although not all of us were brave enough swimmers for that. The kids in particular loved the freedom to roam on the large property. Robyn was a friendly and helpful host.

Unmatched hospitality and an unique experience.
The place offered great facilities that kids and adults can enjoy. Tennis ,cricket , bbq and best was the bonfire.the host is very passionate to make sure we enjoyed our stay. If you like to enjoy quietness this place is ideal. We visited in summer but feel it will be as good or better in other seasons too. There is so much room for the kids to roam around safely.

Fabulous family holiday spot
This place is amazing and very well prepared and organised by Robyn and her husband.
We'd read the description however didn't really appreciate what we were going to find. The house is very well maintained has everything one needs and comfortably fit 2 families (2 adults and 4 young children) and everything around us was fabulous. The school house is in great shape too and the kids loved playing school in there. The sandpit and playground also well used. We didn't have time for tennis but the basketball was bounced a few times.
The fire pit at night with roasted marshmallows another highlight.
Highly recommend this place and thanks for Robyn for having everything so well organised including a high chair and cot.

Perfect bush getaway
We have nothing but praise for this unique accommodation - everything you could want was there - basketball, tennis, bush walks, campfire. Perfect for a large group (we took 3 families). Lots of space and privacy. House was comfortable and well equipped. Hosts were pleasant and easy to deal with. We will be visiting again.
