Home was very clean and well kept. The water was hot and the furnace was excellent. Bedrooms were large compared to other homes we’ve rented. Kitchen was stocked with the needed basics. Extra kudos to Dionne, our contact for the property. She went way out of her way and worked overtime to make our stay the best. The hot tub pump was broke when we arrived late on Friday. She made sure it was repaired by Saturday afternoon when we needed it after a tough day of spring skiing. My only issue is with the VRBO site where it states ski-in/ski/out. I use the filter to only select ski-in/ski-out when I rent a property. This property is walk to and from base area. I’m not an expert, but I don’t think there are any true ski in ski outs at Snow Summit.
We really enjoyed the property. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Ideal walk to Summit. Great views and space. Cabin was very well equipped. Dionne was a wonderful property manager. Definitely would repeat stay!!!!
The house was a great size for a family of five. We had plenty of space to spread out. The house stayed plenty warm and cozy. The Spa was a fun bonus for the kids. Given the snowy conditions, the driveway was a challenge. Overall, a great time.
Our family really enjoyed this house in Big Bear which was perfect for a family retreat after the holidays. My adult children enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table. The kitchen was big and plenty of space for everyone to hang out together. A few things need to be repaired like the fireplace screen but overall it was in great condition. We do suggest labeling the light switches and controls as it got confusing at times.
Lovely home in a great location and we would stay again, but there are some noticeable deferred maintenance and improvement issues that are worth mentioning; There is no functioning exhaust fan over the cooktop which is a fire and health hazard violation. The cookware should be thrown out and replaced asap, the non-stick surfaces are peeling off and small fragments end up in your food (forever chemicals). We would suggest guests bring their own cookware. The pool table should be leveled and the cues need attention (broken tips, no chalk). Lastly, some attention should be given to the beds and bedding; the old style inter-spring mattresses are noisy/squeaky and not very comfortable (good quality foam mattresses are very affordable) and we would bring our own pillows next time.

Location
The place is nice, but could be a lot nicer with a few little things.. the TV was a nitemare, Old cable box didn't work, manger had to come and take it, brought a new one back, still wouldn't work, finally after serval calls, the were able to get it working for one day.. Old tv... TV are so cheap these days.. the master had a monitor on the tv stand.. oh wait.. it was like a 19" tv.. crazy.. and of course. not even a smart tv.. so i just watched shows on my lap top.. For the price.. come on .. The deck was covered with branches, etc.. could have been swept off.. furniture inside is dated, but totally do able for a rental cabin.. the place is really nice.. just needs some love.. so personally i think it would be a challenge to get up the drive way with snow.. it is like everyone else said.. steep.. Check in sucked too.. We get up to the place, only to find the door locked.. looked at my VRBO email that said click here for access.. ( thinking there was some electronic lock) so sitting in the driveway i click the icon.. only for it to say.. there has been no instructions given.. contact manger.. Really.. lucky it was on the weekday before 5... after contacting was told.. first i did not have a reservation, then they found it, and said they wrere never notified,, and i would have to drive down the hill a couple of miles to get a key.. If they could do some updates, i would rent again..
