Yawnoc Cottage - Country Stay Woolsthorpe

Escape to the county and enjoy a peaceful, friendly farm stay with rural views.
Woolsthorpe is a comfortable 25 minute drive to Warrnambool & Port Fairy, 10 minutes to the historic town of Koroit located on the footsteps of Tower Hill. Heading north is Dunkeld a 45 minute drive to the Southern end of the Grampians.

The Cottage is a comfortable space inclusive of a large bathroom with shower/bath, fully self contained kitchen, cosy lounge room and bedroom. The cottage is ideally set up for couples, portacot is available on request. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed. There is plenty of out door space including a front deck and a back yard area which is perfect to sit back, relax and enjoy the piece and quiet of country life. We provide complimentary bacon & eggs which you can cook to your liking, as well as the essentials for breakfast- cereals, milk, tea, coffee, butter and spreads. We are on tank water so our water is precious, we ask you to keep this in mind.

Guest access the property via the driveway of the main house. The cottage is neighbouring (across the garden) so if you need any assistance during your stay we are not far away. Apart from sharing the driveway you can be as private and self contained as you wish.

Enjoy a meal at the local Woolsthorpe Union Station Hotel, a 5 minute drive for a great country experience . Koroit, a 15min drive has a variety of eateries along with Port Fairy and Warrnambool. Koroit is also the closest town for a supermarket (IGA). Woolsthorpe has a great little General Store where you can grab the papers,coffee, sandwich or a pie.

We had a nice 5 night stay. The cottage was clean, comfortable and has homely touched. Bacon and fresh eggs in the fridge ready to cook to our liking. There was also milk, tea, juice, coffee, bread and spreads for us to consume. Short drive to beaches and other fun sightings. Lots to do with the family. The local pub in Woolsthorpe is a must stop.

Perfect place to unwind

I stayed at this lovely cottage for 2 nights shortly after Covid lockdown restrictions were lifted in Melbourne. It was good to get away from the confines of my suburb to this piece of paradise. The cottage is surprisingly spacious, and is surrounded by a pretty garden. The bed and lounge are comfortable and the kitchen stocked with everything you need. The breakfast provisions provided were particularly enjoyed. Evenings were spent on the back verandah listening to the warbling magpies and watching blue wrens dart about. A very peaceful, comfortable place to stay that is a good base for exploring Western Victoria. Hope to return soon.

Yawnoc retreat

Yawnoc Cottage was an excellent place to stay, a retreat in the country on a farm and our host family were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Even the family dog was extremely hospitable, lots of licks and visits from him. For either a long or short stay highly recommend this property as it fully self contained with full kitchen and laundry facilities. Enjoy your stay there. Wonderful

What a great place well worth going inland a bit and experience the country. Fully contained with all amenities you need. Peaceful and quiet. Kids loved the location. Woolsthorpe hotel is a must visit for dinner with great food and a huge outdoor playground for the kids. Thanks to our hosts who were great.

Ideal accommodation for two people. Has all you need for bed and breakfast. Enjoyed the supplied eggs, bacon, tomatoes and toast and satchet coffee. Very reasonably priced. We'd stay again in this lovely location and in the morning sit on the porch with a cuppa and listen to the magpies warbling and watch the sheep grazing.

Tanya and I stayed a night at the cottage it was spotlessly clean and the attention to every little detail was sensational, we would recommend the cottage to anybody visiting Warrnambool or Port fairy, this is a great place to stay well worth the 20 minute drive out of town, would definitely stay again when we get a chance and stay a few more days because there is lots to see. Can’t recommend it highly enough
