It was lovely to host Chris and his wife. They were friendly and respectful, and took good care of our property. Communications were clear and easy, and they left the property neat and tidy. We would happily welcome them back, and recommend them highly. It will be great to see them again the next time that they would like a getaway at the beach

The apartment was clean, well appointed and thoughtfully presented, including an unexpected goodie basket. The ability to go outside to the beach in the morning was excellent. However, the layout with the bedroom directly fronting Pittwater Road made it difficult to sleep. We actually relocated the mattresses into the loungeroom space after the first night and it was fine. My suggestion to the hosts would be to switch the layout/rooms and this problem would be alleviated.

Very Disappointed
Firstly very very small. For the price Room 10 faces a dual carriageway very noisy late at night and early morning. Apartments are so close could hear a baby crying yelling at night throughout the nights and people collect bottles and cans early in the morning from the bins in ground level to wake you up around 5 am.
Sadly had to buy a new phone charger as not made aware power point was faulty.
For over $300 plus a night will not use them again. Also quite remote as many cafes not open early in the week.

Hi Matthew, Thanks for your review, however it is important to clarify a few of your comments. This is a small one bedroom apartment which is great for either one or two people, so I am not sure what you wanted in accommodation, as we do have a number of two bedroom apartments. Given that it was only for yourself, generally an apartment with a separate bedroom, separate kitchen, separate bathroom and combined lounge / dining room is more than adequate.
This apartment does face Pittwater Rd, which we had informed you about, however, we have installed sound proof windows and most guests do not have an issue with the minimal amount of external noise. It would have been great to place you in a beachfronting apartment with fantastic views over the ocean and beach and backyard, however they were already booked out, given your late booking request over this busy period and your budget.
The collection of the bottles and cans early in the morning from the bins happens once a week and no matter where in the world you are staying, the garbage men need to collect the rubbish.
The power point was not faulty. There was a power board that you used that has a cut out switch to protect electronic equipment. Just pressing the button on this resets the power board.
Regarding the price of the apartment, you also booked in the high Christmas / New Years season, when prices everywhere are more expensive and quite difficult to obtain. Generally our prices are much less expensive than alternative accommodation, so I am not sure what pricing you were expecting, especially if you had done a comparison of other venues.
I am also not sure what you would determine as remote, regarding cafes, as there are 5 small cafe's within a 5 minute walk of our apartments.
There is a brilliant cafe in the surf club, which is only 4 doors down from us that is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, however we have no control over their opening hours.
There are also a large number of restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk of our apartments which you can get to either by walking down the beach to them, which is a very pleasant experience or walking down the road.
I hope you find suitable accommodation next year that meets both your expectations and budget.
I am sorry and disappointed with your experience in staying with us, however I am not really sure what you wanted, as we have hosted many guests over the years who absolutely love this apartment and our location right on the beach.
The unit itself was nice & clean .Compact but had all the facilities needed for a short stay. It has a great location & the backyard backs onto the beach where there is plenty of seating to watch the ocean. The property manager responded to our requests in a timely manner. However, the unit definitely has some issues like there is no window that can be opened so the only ventilation is a small bathroom fan.We cooked fish &. could smell it 3 days later. Using the wifi is an exercise in frustration as sometimes you cannot even get a web page to open let alone download anything. I gave up trying to download my Ebook. The road noise can be loud especially early in the morning when you are trying to sleep.

Hi James,
It really is a nice apartment with everything that guests need for either a long or short stay.
The backyard going onto the beach and looking at the water is always very pleasant and great for going for a quick dip.
I am sorry to hear about your frustrations with the windows. They are double glazed windows, which do open in both the kitchen and bedroom to let in the fresh air, so it was a shame that you didn't contact me when you were unaware of how they open.
The Wifi is usually very good and quite fast, however it seems the telco; Telstra were doing work in the area, which we have no control over... they seem to be a law unto themselves these days.
The one thing that I would advise to both you and any guest would be to initially contact the host if you have any problems or difficulties as quite often in an unfamiliar place and /or country there is a simple solution which would make your trip so much more enjoyable and relaxing.
Thanks for staying with us.
A cosy little spot in the perfect location. The owner was very helpful and made us feel welcome.
