Excellent place to stay
Grindlewald lodge has been an amazing experience. The owners have gone above and beyond to make my stay more comfortable than I could have ever imagined I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay close to Launceston.
A little surprise packet on a hill in a semi rural
About a 15 minute drive out of launceston, It was a lovely surprise. Placed up on a hill top over looking the beautiful Tamar river & Tamar Valley region.
It surpassed my expectations, because I booked (for the 3 of us) at the last minute on Australia Day long weekend & so glad we did. This Pet friendly accommodation was a bonus!
Our little Cavoodle was welcomed & he had a ball!
A beautiful fenced in area for your fur baby to run around in safely is reassuring. It’s a good idea to advise ALL 3 of your hosts when your dog is having a run, so to allow other dogs use of the area too. The dog area was just outside our door, so it was very handy.
Outside your accommodation, bedroom @ lounge next door is very quiet & just lovely sitting outside on the verandah looking over the valley.
When I booked this accommodation- I didn’t actually realise it was a big house, as I was in a hurry, but it didn’t matter one bit. Don’t let that deter you.
In fact the serenity & privacy was so lovely, it was similar to a hotel anyway from that aspect.
Parking was almost at the door, so easy. A very comfortable king size bed. With a well placed long walk in robe. Also there was an indoor solar heated swimming pool which was a nice. Grindelwald Swiss Village was just down the road. Our main host was Helen (who is an amazing cook) and together with her husband Michael they run their business very efficiently.
We stayed 2 nights. We caught a taxi to the Rosevears Pub the first night. Only about an 8 min drive. It cost between $13 to $15. There’s always the Exeter pub as well, about a 10 min drive, that the locals frequent. Then the next night we sampled Helens cooking which was amazing!
It’s a well planned accommodation style B & B.
What an Absolutely unique, quaint, pet friendly amazing hosts
We initially booked for 3 days but the Hospitality and Accomodation, the Pet Friendliness , The Beautiful Tranquil Surroundings, the Peacefulness of Grindelwald Lodge we booked on our 3rd Night to stay a 4th,
.Amazing location. Wonderful people.
We both had an enjoyable stay. The owners were amazing. We we made very welcome. Hospitality was second to none. I would recommend this as a stay over to anyone.
It was more than what we were hoping for. Couldn't fault our hosts service. Felt pampered. Was so nice to just to relax and not have to worry about our animals. It was obvious the animals loved their stay too. Can't recommend highly enough.
Thankyou, we appreciate your review and hope to see you again in the future
