40 Acre Retreat -rural seclusion, central location

This large, spacious and comfortable home with its roaring fire and reverse cycle air-cooling, has a fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and open plan living, making it an ideal property for couples and families alike.

40 Acre Retreat offers the perfect location as either a central base for enjoying the wine and food tasting experiences of the Barossa or to relax and catch up with friends and family in privacy, surrounded by the grape vines, birds chirping, while watching the sheep meander in the paddocks.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of country living amongst the vines and the gums while being conveniently located 5 minutes or less from the Barossa Valley’s top wine and food attractions; Tanunda, Seppeltsfield, Maggie Beers, Hentley Farm, Whistler Wines, Torbreck, Appellation’s Restaurant and only a short walk to Two Hands cellar door.

Please note we can not hold any type of functions ie. weddings, engagement parties etc at the 40 Acre Retreat, it is a guest house only.

The 40 Acre Retreat is holiday accommodation, we do not supply breakfast. The closest supermarket is 7 minutes drive, which is open 7am -8pm and there are many great eateries in the Barossa, ask us for more info of where to go.

This is also a working sheep farm, we love that you want to bring your dog on holiday and try to accommodate that, the yard is sheep proof not dog proof, if you feel your furry friend might be a little too interested in the sheep then our property might not work for you.

A fantastic acerage to relax and unwind just minutes from the Tanunda township. Perfectly located for easy access to the northen Barossa region and all it has to offer. Staguni, Hentley Farm, Fino and mush more.The traditional home has been spruced up with modern bathrooms and loads of room to privately reside, whilst taking advantage of the generous open plan living room and cute kitchen. Fireplace is just perfect, and the verandah overlooking the vines is just beautiful.

Perfect location to fabulous wineries with a picturesque outlook over the vineyards whilst enjoying the ambience of the fire. I imagine this would be equally beautiful in Summer with Glory Vine across verandah and outdoor bbq area. Kitchen is well equipped, and Tanunda is very close for food and other supplies needed during stay. Beds are very comfortable and bathrooms are lovely. WiFi was a bonus & theres a DVD player if you need some quiet time at end of the day. (No Netflix etc) Good idea to take a few favourites if travelling with movie fans. Was so good to travel with our much loved dog and he was absolutely entertained by watching sheep and lambs strolling through the vines. A lovely place!

Our family of 5 adults and two small dogs for 4 nights and it couldn’t have been better!Our cavoodles lived the freedom outside and it was easy to monitor their activities - they did not escape!It was a great location from which to explore all the fabulous places of the Barossa - highly recommend.ps your guest book is full :)

Our family moved to the Barossa Valley in 2016. We live just up the road from the 40 Acre Retreat. We love the Marananga area, its location is so central and the valley is so picturesque.

Why they chose this property

Visitors to the Barossa Valley have been staying at the 40 Acre Retreat for well over 6 years. We took ownership of the property at the end of 2017. We loved the abundance of natural light and big open plan living space. We got to work straight away giving the place a much needed overhaul and we think the results speak for themselves. Our aim was to create a home that was fresh, inviting and relaxed both indoors and out.

Now only a short 15 minute walk to Marananga School, coffee, wine bar and one of S A best restaurants

What makes this property unique

Located on a 40 Acre farm, the birds are generally the noisiest thing you will hear, or the lambs in lambing season. It is a short drive to the most visited wine and food offering in the valley.
