Quaint House in the Woods hiking trails, pet friendly and lots of privacy
Come relax in this three bedroom and 2 bath home. Located at the end of the road in a beautiful grove of pines and only minutes from the Mount Elbert trail head. This home has all the modern conveniences while offering a back country life style. Home is only 10 minutes to Twin Lakes and 25 minutes to Leadville. The breathtaking natural beauty of Colorado's largest glacial lakes, reflecting some of the nation's highest peaks, makes Twin Lakes one of the world's most scenic places. A fifteen-minute drive from Leadville, or hour-long journey over Independence Pass from Aspen, will take travelers to a peaceful world of pristine mountain landscapes. The Historic Village of Twin Lakes, once busy as a mountain transportation hub between Aspen and Leadville during the gold rush days, was described in 1885 as "the most charming summer mountain resort in Colorado." Very little has changed in Twin Lakes since then. In the event of inclement weather (ex: heavy snow, etc.) we will not be able to help with any vehicle issues. We recommend using 4-wheel and All Wheel drive vehicles to get to the property during these times. This location will meet all your needs.<>Lastly, we ask that you respect our highly valued water. Please be conscious of not watering outside, the length of your showers, how often you do laundry, etc. We thank you in advance for your efforts on this.Lake county license number 2025-077

We were pleasantly surprised to find more sleeping areas than listed. Our older kids had a blast in the lower level and everyone enjoyed the deck and natural lighting from the large windows upstairs. The cabin was nestled in the woods but close to anything we needed. Hosts were very quick to respond. I would absolutely stay again!
Our group really enjoyed our stay here. We were able to easily access Leadville, Ski Cooper and the local reservoirs and it's apart of a great little neighborhood community. Quiet spot, and the grill and fireplace were a nice plus.
The house is very nice but don’t look for anything over 1985 in the house. Everything is old and very used. Cooking pans are going to give you some teflon in your food. Forget using the cracked and uneven cutting boards or enough utensils for everyone. Don’t forget to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels. Ran out after first day. Oh and have fun taking all your trash to the dump stop where the code doesn’t work. That’s an adventure in itself! Not enough patio furniture so make sure you bring some chairs. Least to say you get what you pay for here! NO INTERNET!!
This was a beautiful location for a quiet home, tucked away in the backwoods of Twin Lakes, which was a perfect location for our group of friends to spend time in nature together. The seven of us fit comfortably among the rooms, and there was ample space for hanging out between the dining room, living room, and basement areas. We loved that there was a ping-pong table and a perfect amount of space to set up our projector for playing video games together. We did not notice that there was no WiFi included at this spot, so be prepared to log onto a hotspot or just unplug from the internet altogether while you're here. All in all, we loved this place and would recommend it again!
Had a great time. One of the beds was broken, but made it work. Also towels were in the dryer when we got there, but it was more than a double load and they were still wet and had soured. None of this made our stay bad. My family had a blast and loved every minute of being there. Would stay again.
Beautiful cabin, great location! We enjoyed the loft, and the ping pong table in the basement. Some of the pots and pans were very much past their prime, and we couldn’t get the tv to work, but we were only there a few hours each evening. Would stay again.
Great property in twin lakes. Cabin was quiet and met our needs. Only thing that would have been better is there was only one key to the house a second key would have been useful since we had two couples and separate cars but wasn’t that big of a deal.
The cabin is nestled in the trees but was close enough to walk to the frozen lake to watch ice fishing. Cool experience. Spacious rooms, large deck. Very peaceful. It was a short drive to Leadville Colorado to watch Ski Joring. Me and my friends loved this place!
Nothing fancy, but just perfect for our needs. Takes some time to cool down using the a/c but the mountain air did the trick even in June when opening the windows. Kept clean. Kitchen had the basics we needed to cook with. Host was friendly. Grateful for the opportunity to stay here!
